Last week we asked if you would eat a sandwich made with peanut butter, pimento-stuffed olives, and mayonnaise. The overwhelming response was that of disgust. A measly eleven percent would eat the Max Special. Many people said no thanks, others would only eat the sandwich if starving. Aversions to olives and mayonnaise were strong. There was so much talk about this sandwich that I decided to make it for lunch. Yes, you read that I ate a peanut butter, olive and mayo sandwich. To find out how it tasted — neither fabulous nor disgusting — and see the Sugar Headquarters reactions to the sandwich in a video, read more.

1You girls make my day!
I would so try it too
Hilarious....great video (i haven't seen one like this on the sugar network before--lovin' it!)
2Love the music as you went to eat the sandwich! Great video - you all should totally do more of those.
3I'm quite fond of a sandwich made with peanut butter, cream cheese and Eckrich (the brand is important on this) olive loaf between two pieces of toast. It's so good. I highly recommend it. Peanut butter on one piece of toast, cream cheese on the other and the olive loaf in the middle.
4here's to an iron stomach. i know that i would NEVER be able to do that - even if i was starving - but i guess that's just the 'mind over matter' thing
5
6Awesome video!
7Fun video! I wouldn't eat it because I don't like green olives and am not super fond of mayo.
8Hehehe, fun video! The olives are a deal-breaker for me, but more power to you for giving it a shot!
9Have to agree with tlsgirl on this one. I am not a fan of olives, so the sandwich alone make me want to hurl at the thought of putting that in my mouth... but I have to give you ladies major props for having the guts to try it! Love the video - it was hilarious.
10I would never eat it. The first time i heard of this is in the Stephanie Plum novels she is always eating peanut butter and olive sandwiches. I always thought it was weird.
11Good Lord! I applaud your sense of adventure!
12Party, you're so pretty! And I love the use of the Weird Al song in the video.
13More power to you guys!
14No way I would eat it, but I don't like olives, or mayo.
15you are very brave!
16now i want one.
17Hey, thanks for the entertainment! It was really cool. It made me think of my boyfriend (the other day he had a peanut butter, blue cheese and salami sandwich just to disgust me).
18I was out of the office that day and was so bummed to miss out! I'm going to have to give it a try later today.
finnlover - peanut butter, blue cheese and salami?? sounds like we should try that too!
19thanks for being our test kitchen...i would have tried it.....
20I like the dramatic music when you go to take the first bite.
And
I took note that your words were 'it's not THAT bad'
21
Girl, you crazy. But points for bravery, and I love the video.
22Mayo and PB, eww!
23I used to eat nothing but pickle and cheese sandwiches!
24Honestly,
One of my favorite sandwiches is as follows:
Medium Toast two pieces of your favorite bread. Lightly slather both sides with a thin coat of Peanut Butter & add Scrambled eggs to the middle.
It's the perfect mix of salty and sweet all wrapped up in your favorite carb.
It's really good. My dad loves them and learned from his mom who loved them too!
25Ewwwwww, need I say more.
26At Sugar HQ, anything's edible if you chase it down with some gummi worms.
27Yeah - say more :| What if I paid you $100?
28"It's not bad. (pause) It's not THAT bad." Heh. Love it!
29"Peanut butter, blue cheese and salami" — I might just be hungry, but that sounds YUM!!!
30it doesn't seem that bad. i think i might try it now!
31Loved the video and more yummy ideas to try. Thanks all.
32I give you guys a ton of credit.!! And more credit for making it look semi-edible. Ick!
33AHHHHHHHH! Props to the girls who ate this! The peanut butter + olives is the part that gets me. Blech.
34LOVE the video. BUT, I'm SO glad I wasn't in the kitchen!!!
35i'd eat it!!! looks and sounds like it tastes interesting
36
Awesome video!!!
37Trust me girls! It has become my boyfriend's favorite sandwich. He's from Finland and he kind of didn't know how to use peanut butter. Hilarious. Poor guy, the recipes he has invented since he moved to Canada...
38Stop lying you know it is nasty!
39I get how flavors can cancel, or compliment one another, but I'm not up for trying this one. Kudos to those who did.
40That was so funny!
I'm impressed you ladies tried it...I was gagging just watching you make it!
41hahahha!! so funny, the music was hilarious.
42I don't think I'll try it, (for money maybe) haha..
I am not a big fan of olives and mayo.
Excellent experiment! A++++++!
43I suspected it would be salty depending on how many olives and the type of Mayo used but that if one used fresh ground natural peanut butter that would offset the salty. It's the sweet, salty, creamy, and possibly crunchy sandwich. Hitting all the senses. And if it nauseates you it hits one more on the way back up!
yucky!
44More videos please!
45hahhaaha my dad has been eating this sandwich, minus the olives, for years!!! it's totally disgusting and my brother has unfortunately followed suit.
46Very entertaining, I couldn't eat it. I agree with Liss - the peanut butter and olive part reminds me of Stephanie Plum.
47Okay Party... I was watching your video with the hubby in the room. He thought it sounded amazingly strange. So, he made it tonight and I actually tried it. I hate mayo (prefer miracle whip) and hate olives. I was a trooper and tried it anyways. I agree that I couldn't eat an entire sandwich but it was pretty good. The hubby of course
it.
48i loved peanut butter and mayo sandwiches growing up. i ate one other day when i was feeling nostalgic, and... well... yea. BIG no to the olives though. do. not. want.
49i dont see anything wrong with trying this sandwhich out, i have heard of some pretty discusting combos, and this is nothing compared to them. come on people!
