Today marks the beginning of the Year of the Rat. Although most Westerners would never dream of eating rat, it is actually a delicacy in many places, and surprisingly rat consumption is on the rise, especially in places where the bird flu was rampant and another source of protein was needed. Personally, I'd give the little rodents a try; call me crazy but the recipe for rat steamed with lemon leaves actually sounds appetizing and that picture above doesn't look too shabby either. Rat-atouille anyone?

Umm, no thanks. I'll take a pass on that!
Ew! I'm glad I didn't have any meat for lunch, I'd surely be throwing it up right now, lol
I'll try anything once but it certainly doesn't sound appealing.
This reminds me of Demolition Man! Haha!
I think I just threw up in my mouth.
No, I couldn't brign myself to try it
I think that might actually be the LAST thing I'd eat. Bring on bugs before a rat.
Yum-I'm calling you crazy!
I've eaten weirder things, why not try it?
I just lost my lunch.
maybe just a tiny little bite?
girlfriends i eat just anything!
lol
Ok, see, this is in my top 3 reasons that I'm vegetarian. Well, ok, not rat specifically, but the fact that meat in general just grosses me the heck out!
Yuck! Absolutely not.
Wouldn't be the worst thing I've eaten. I'd try it out, just as long as it didn't look too rat-like.
I think i am going to throw up the chicken i just ate for lunch! GROSS!
Yum - you are way too adventurous!!
I don't have any issues with meat, specifically. It's just that I used to have pet rats, and that would be all I would think about. It would be like eating a dog (which I know people eat too!) for most people. I know I'm in the minority in having rats for pets but still...
I would probably give it a taste.
Never,never, never!
Sure, why not? I am not very adventurous with food, imo... no bugs, no organs, no exceptions. But meat is meat, and I wouldn't have a problem trying rat. I think it's much weirder than people eat *skin* or uncooked meat.
No thanks
Wow, Yum, I seriously admire you! You must have some serious ovaries. I don't think I could ever eat a rat, but it doesn't help that last night I picked up what i thought was a moldy jalepeno squished between my couch cushions only to realize it was a dead mouse that I was holding by the tail. Ew!
I'd have some serious issues, since I consider rats pets...xD! Oh wells. =)
"I think I just threw up in my mouth. Barf! "
You took the words out of my mouth
No thank you!
Sick.
I can't even standing seeing a live rat, let alone eat one. But honestly, if I didn't know that it was a rat (my parents would've probably lied to me and say it's 'pork' from some country or so), I would take a bite or two. If I knew it was a rat, NO WAY. Never!
Wow, Yum, you are brave! How was it?
I'm sick just thinking about it.
I don't think so.
Yuck!
Sure, I would give it a try! Why not!
I eat squirrel and really what is the diff? its delicious.
No way!
Maybe if I could summon up my inner Bourdain...
seriously the only way i could eat a rat would be if i didn't know what it was....if i knew it was a rat i couldnt eat it!
rats are either cute little pets...or disgusting vermin...and either way i dont really want to eat it!
rats eat garbage....enough said
Sure. Chickens are pretty gross, too, if you think about it. Why not?
stylish chic, so do chickens, pigs, quail, and ducks!
Definitely not. I'm getting nauseous just thinking about it.
I would try if I didn't know what it was, I think. Other than that, no thanks.
no no no no no no no no no. there is NO way that you would get me to eat that
Why not? I've had squirrel before - just a rat with a bushy tail, haha. I've eaten (and enjoyed) cow tongue, cow stomach (Don't know how to spell it but it was pronounced "Mau - gah"), octopus, sushi, eel, .... oh lots of things.
I'll try anything once!
I've eaten things that I think are a lot weirder/grosser than eating rat, so why not?
I don't even want to see a rat, let alone eat one.
ewwwww
I'm a pretty adventurous eater, but this is just disgusting!
No way.
I could never look at my daughters pet rat in the eyes again
Cut me a slice of rat! I'll try it.
It's like eating Fido. . . or Remy! It sounds so digusting. . . but i would try it. As long as I didn't know it was rat. Just don't tell me. Just don't tell me.
My Hungarian family cooked one of their pet rabbits for dinner, and we didn't know it until we asked where the rabbit went. They said "you're eating him."
My sister went vegetarian after that.
