This weekend, the folks of Fargo, North Dakota, decided they wanted to be famous for something other than being the setting for a Coen Brothers' film. So this past Saturday, the folks of Fargo got themselves in the Guinness Book of World Records. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Fargo Kiwanis Club's Pancake Karnivale, the Kiwanis club members and volunteers served up 34,818 pancakes, making them the largest pancake feed in the world. This bested the former world record holder — The Lions Club of Lubbock, Texas — by more than 4,000 pancakes. Personally I think this beats those "world's largest" records, because at least it doesn't seem like a huge waste of food. On the downside, I'd hate to be there for cleanup duty. What do you guys think of this pancake feeding frenzy?

I love these community pancake events!! 34,000 pancakes is only a waste if nobody is eating them.
1i think this is an even bigger achievement because it was about -23 below in Fargo on saturday (i'm originally from ND and my family still lives there) so you know there's some serious pancake-eatin dedication!
2I WAS THERE! yay! haha yes...it was freezing, and snowing, and terrible out. and people still came. awesome. and delicious.
3That's awesome.

5How fun! Now I have a craving for pancakes!
6Sounds like fun! Reminds me of my elementary school when the boy scouts used to do pancake suppers.
7hmm i guess you have to live pancakes to be around that many all day huh? congrats to fargo.
