The other day I ended up at the San Francisco outpost of Tom Colicchio's 'Wichcraft. While there were plenty of delicious-looking sandwiches on the menu, my eyes gravitated to their cupcakes. They're similar to the old-school Hostess cupcakes: rich chocolate with a white creamy filling, chocolate ganache, and a bit of white frosting drizzled on top. They clock in at $2.75, and they have nothing to do with sandwiches, but don't they look tasty?

yummmmm, those look good. lucky for me i'm not in San Fran and i don't allow myself to eat sweets like that or otherwise i would be there pigging out.
i don't think that i'd want to be the person who has to put the writing on all those cupcakes though.
Wow, those look great!
Ooh! I love Hostess cupcakes! This makes me hungry.
They do look good. But I feel like they should have something to do with sandwiches.
Give me one!
I WANT ONE SOOOOOOOOO BAD!!!!! I had the best cupcakes when I was in LA. They were from Crumbs and there a actually a lot of locations of Crumbs in NYC. YUMMMMMMY!!!!
You know before reading something on a foodie blog a couple of weeks ago I did not know that 'Wichcraft here in SF was owned by Tom from Top Chef. I mean I knew he had restaurants named "Craft" whatever but I didn't think he'd start making sandwiches.
That said those cupcakes there at 'wichcraft would be less expensive than the ones at Bristol Farms or Whole Foods. Something for me to remember when my nephews want sweet treats.
These look amazing!
Okay, I have a nice turkey meatloaf dinner in the oven with a lovely tossed salad to go with that. My fiance waltzed in from work with a bag from Dunkin Donuts, and I'm *really* trying to be good here so I ignore the bag.....then I stumble onto the picture of the cupcake?? That's it. I've got to go and attack the donuts now.
I had a sandwich from 'Wichcraft in Las Vegas and I hate to say it but I thought it was below average and overpriced.
Wackdoodle -- it's kind of strange, but these cupcakes are incredibly rich and chocolaty, a lot of kids don't seem to like them (or the chocolate cream 'wiches) !
that looks so scrumptious!
