As much as I love watching Chef Robet Irvine, embellishing on your resume should be enough to get canned. But I also think every situation varies.

While, it's not right to embellish your resume, I really enjoyed watching Dinner: Impossible b/c of him. He was fun to watch, and added to the whole challenge.

i never really liked him so i guess i'm not too sad about it. i think that in this day and age when you can be googled very easily it just goes to show that no one is safe.

I think it sucks that he embellished, and he should be punished in some way. But I'm not sure he should be fired because of it. I loved watching him on the show...I'm not sure he can be replaced..

I for one couldn't stand him on that show, or the show itself. Did he really honestly think that his lies..oh excuse me "exaggerations" wouldnt catch up to him? Just scrap the show, and come up with something else genius like that new show "recipe showdown" (snickers) what is happening to the Food network people? I thought the ratings sucked so they pull out what shows to save it? Guy fieri and the double dare dude trading remarks about cinnamon and star anise like they were watching a wrestling match?

Saying you cooked for the Royal Family when you didn't isn't an "embellishment." It's an out-and-out lie. I doubt many people's resumes would stand up to the "embellishment" test but you don't make up a job in your resume that is like "CEO of Chevron" and then try to pass it off.

Would you want a doctor who embellished her resume? Why would it be okay to keep a cook who embellished his? Food Network acted in an appropriate way. He lied, they fired him.

Regrettably, yes. He was a fraud. An imposter. He is truly not who he says he is. He was hired based on the presumption that his qualifications are real. Since they're not, he's unhired (i.e. fired). It's a basic principle.

Ouch. Yeah, I am sad to say I saw this coming. I watch Dinner Impossible from time to time and it's not bad. I wish he hadn't lied.

God knows what he was thinking though. To lie about your participation in a wedding that was probably the most-watched, most media-covered in all of television history? I mean...that wasn't a good choice.

Food Network also eliminated a contestant on "Next Food Network Star" because he lied on his credentials by saying he'd cooked for the military (or some branch of militia) when he hadn't at all.
As regrettable as it is that Irvine's being kicked off, they can't make special exceptions

I'm not terribly sad about the show being cancelled...probably my absolute least favorite show on the Food Network.

I think it's sad that he did this. I mean what could he possibly have been thinking. The things he said were so easy to check up on. And from what I can tell even without the fancy made up credentials he does have some cooking experience and even cooking for lareg groups (i.e. the Navy) so why not just say that the show woldn't be any less fun because of it. and I don't know about anyone else but I'd never heard of him before this show so who would have known?

Why did it take so long to find out?

i hate this show, i've always thought he was a douche. figures that he actually *is* a gigantic douche liar.

I've started an online movement to have Chef Irvine contract renewed.
