On Friday afternoon, as I was strolling around town, I noticed the first real signs of Spring: Girl Scout Cookies! So unless you've already ordered yours, you've got 13 days to get your hands on this year's offerings. From now until Mar. 16, you'll be able to find Girl Scouts on nearly every major street corner and grocery store parking lot. Some troops are on a different schedule, but you can find a troop near you and indulge!
Personally, I've got a thing for the Samoas, I love the toasted coconut, caramel, and chocolate. Although I wouldn't turn down a Thin Mint or a Tagalong (peanut butter and chocolate) either. And I always end up buying at least one box (they should be $3.50 a box).
So tell me, do you end up buying Girl Scout Cookies? Or do you think they're overrated?

overrated!? NEVER! This is the best time of the year. I've already been buying multiple boxes of samoas and peanut butter patties (I refuse to call them tagalongs)
1Bad cookies!!!
2the price went up this year - $3.50 a box is a bit pricey! though i'll admit, those tagalongs are totally worth it!
3Cookie season is over for us in Jersey.
4yes I buy them. Its for a good cause and they are tasty! The Sugar Free Chocolate Chips are great this year. Last year or maybe the year before they had some sort of lemon zest sugar free and it was good but the chocolate chip is even better.
514 boxes. I'm not even kidding. All but 2 are mine.
I don't know anyone with kids in Girl Scouts so every year at cookie time I grill everyone in my office trying to find a hookup. Then I take full advantage.
6I LOVE Girl Scout cookies. Plus, my niece is selling them, so I technically had to buy those thin mints.
7Mmm Thin Mints.
8I love thin mints and somoas!
I actually bought some a few months ago at stop and shop, the girls had set up a table there and i couldn't resist!
9The Lemonades (shortbread cookie with a tangy lemon icing) are delicious!
10I don't think they're overrated in the slightest. It's a special once a year treat for most, and I paid nine dollars for three boxes so to me it's no big deal.
11They're charging $4 a box in Oregon...didn't stop me from getting some thin mints though!
12I think they are overrated. I never buy them. My family was never into girl scout cookies, don't know why.
13i ordered these babies months ago, cannot wait. i can't even choose a favorite!
14Ah yes, I bought 5 boxes. Hehe.
15mmm cookies, those girls are so evil and set up shop on the quad and you can't help but walk past them and want to buy boxes and boxes. Everyday. I don't know if my wallet can handle two weeks of this.
16overpriced but delicious!! we have like 6 boxes lol
17SAMOAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I miss those one cookies that came in a teal box and I think they started with a J. ?? Anyone?
18My ass thanks you in advance for the link to finding Thin Mints in my area! WOOHOO!!!
19mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm now i want cookies
20eh...cookies from a box never did anything for me.
21i succummed and bought three boxes. thin mints, all abouts and samoa's. i took the thin mints and samoa's home to share with the hubby but am keeping the all abouts all for me.
22i always buy the thin mints and samoas! they are the best ever
23my mom just got hers and gave my boyfriend and i a few boxes to take home with us this past weekend. i wish i had remembered to mention the peanut butter ones though - those are my new favorites!
24Mmmmm Girl Scout cookies...I never buy them, though, I work in about three or four separate offices a week and there's always plenty on people's desks that they're giving out!
25Girl Scout for 13 years here, so not buying cookies is kind of not an option. I do miss getting to test out the new flavors in the fall before they went on sale though...
26I would prefer Camp Fire candy but I can never find Camp Fire girls. If I buy GS cookies I will usually just send them to the troops. They're good, but they're not really a 'thing' for me.
27my order was given to me at work today - i love thin mints!
28My favorite time of the year!
29I can't help but support those little entrepreneurs who sit out in front of my grocery store. I just want them to do well
30I remember pounding the pavement as a little girl scout, and now I can't help but support the girls in my area. Of course, I like to buy a couple boxes and freeze some so I don't eat them all at once, but my husband has other ideas. We have three boxes OPEN in our house right now....samoas, thin mints, and tagalongs. I can't resist them! Thank goodness they are only seasonal. I think I gained 5 pounds in girl scout cookies this weekend.
31I buy them and just bring them to work and give them away. Two tagalongs are 12 grams of fat!!!!!
32GRRRRR All I want is some Samoas!!!! really I went up and down Market st just now looking for those lil GGRRR!!!I dont want anymore thin mints (althought they are yummy) I NEED SAMOAS!!!!!! sorry for the rant but I REALLY NEED THEM!!
33They are way overrated. My family LOVES Samoas!
34I love Samoas!! There's no like knock off that you can get at the grocery store, so I just have to buy them whenever I get the chance.
35Cookie season already came and went here. I'm hoarding the last of the thin mints in the freezer.
36And they're so not overrated. Okay, so maybe you can find similar cookies year round for less (like grasshoppers)...but a portion of the cookie sales are going towards a very good cause. You're supporting both the troop and the Girl Scout council at large. How can that ever be overrated???
I did my time selling cookies as a young girl scout and once even wore a giant cookie outfit to sell cookies in the Houston Downtown Tunnel, so I feel compelled to buy at least 3 or 4 boxes from booths situated at the grocery store.
37Has anyone else seen the Girl Scout cookie flavors that Edy's ice cream has??? I was THISCLOSE to buying the Samoa flavor! And they're the slow churned kind too!!! See, I didn't buy Samoas this year, because they are my favorite, and I was afraid I'd eat the whole box!!!
I do regret buying that ice cream though... I should go back and get it...
38I like Girl Scout cookies, and I'll munch on them if they're around, but I'd prefer homemade any day!
39i love them - probably because i can only get them once a year. it really makes them taste better!
40there were some girl scouts hanging out at my grocery store this weekend, and they totally approached me with sad faces, telling me they weren't able to go to camp because they hadn't been selling enough cookies. i loved camp as a girl scout, so of course i bought a box. for $4.50!
those kids owe me a dollar! but you know what? those were some of the best thin mints ever!
41I finally found some girl scouts today selling them and bought 3 boxes. I was so happy go finally get my Thin Mint fix!
42I absolutely LOVE girl scout cookies!!!!! The thought of them is making my mouth water as I type. I could easily eat a box in about 10 minutes or less. If you like the thin mints and don't want to wait all year for cookie season, Kibbler makes cookies called grasshoppers, they are just like thin mints and they come in the 100 calorie packs too!
43Tagalongs = heaven.
44LaLaLaurie06 - you're referring to the Juliette. I miss those also.
Millysaps - I was one for 13 years also and I enjoyed my time selling cookies.
As for myself, I bought four boxes (two Somoas, one Thin Mint, one Lemon Chalet Creme) and two and a half are gone already. Luckily, my niece's troop will be having a booth sale on the 15th, so I will get some more before they're gone until time.
45thin mints=LOVE i am also in love with the lemonades! i currently have...6 boxes.....gotta stock up! plus thin mints freeze great too. 1. they taste good 2. the girls are just too cute for words!
463 boxes from my neighbor. only one for me though
47thanks, afrochic! Those were to die for!
48@ millarci - GS season isn't over for me and I'm in NJ.
We didn't even get our
cookies yet -- my neighbor said they'll be here next week!
Now, I do have a vent about the GS cookies. There are two bakers - ABC and Little Brownie. My husband got cookies at work from a guy and they were made by ABC and the thin mints were HORRID. I was soooo sad.
I asked my neighbor and she said they use Little Brownie, so yay, the better
cookies are a commin'!
49I have two daughters in girl scouts. I have to buy boxes of cookies from both. I love the All Abouts.
