I'm usually pretty good at math, but something about that equation looks off. Mac n' Cheese is not usually something I think of when I think of easy to eat, fast food. However we're apparently in new math territory because that equation is true. This week Burger King is offering Kraft-branded mac and cheese in test markets. Although it is meant for kids, it's not going to be marketed directly to kids, seems like the marketers are smart enough to know that adults like mac and cheese too.
The product will be shipped in frozen packages and then reheated in microwaves at Burger King. I guess it'll be nice to have the option, but headed to Burger King just for mac and cheese seems a bit crazy, especially since it's essentially microwaved food. Although it will be a microwaved product created specifically for Burger King.
So, have you seen mac and cheese at your Burger King? Would you buy it if you did?

It would be nice since my youngest daughter LOVES mac and Cheese and I think there are a lot of picky kids that will eat Mac and Cheese and their siblings may like BK. As there aren't many options for kids at fast food places.
1Ew, not for me.
2weird...
3will it cost the same as if you buy one of those easy-mac cups in the grocery store? ($1-$2)
I for one can eat KD almost every day. AND being a vegetarian (and healthy-ISH) I really don't frequent burger king all that often... (cant even remember the last time i was in one) but if there was a 24 hour burger king and i came out of a bar at 3 am with a serious case of the munchies, this would be AMAZING! and yeah, i guess its good for the kids.. i would assume this is healthier than a burger and fries? am i wrong?
this is odd to me. no thanks!
4P.S. Even tho i just had some KD on sunday, this is making me CRAVE some pretty badly right now.
5I wonder what McDonald's will come up with to respond to this. Also, I would try it. I'm curious to see how frozen then reheated KD tastes like. I always find it tasted really bland the next day when reheated.
6Great, more gross junk food available, woopee
7Aw. I love M&C
Hm. Maybe that is what I will have for lunch today.
8i know it seems weird for them to be selling microwaved food thats not theirs, but its still gonna have that same delicious taste we all love!
9when ur on the go you dont always have a microwave or a stove top to make ur fave mac and cheese when ur craving for it.
so i think this is a great idea!
KFC has been doing mac and cheese forever. And Kraft is probably going to make a better product than them, so hey, whatever.
I can't eat BK without getting a stomach ache so it doesn't matter to me.
10My husband would never eat this - he hates cold Mac and Cheese and he hates leftovers or reheated Mac and Cheese. But I'd go for this in a pinch! (If I forgot lunch or something)
11Not as tempted as I might be if it was Velveeta Shells and Cheese - a staple in my diet!
12100% yes! not as tempting as stouffers or the aforementioned velveeta shells & cheese.... but I will admit that i eat mac & cheese at least 3 times a week...
13i guess it makes sense to sell one gross processed food with other gross processed foods.
doesn't kfc serve macaroni and cheese (the realer kind)?
14hmm ... I love mac n' cheese, but I can't stand it after it has been reheated in a microwave!
15uhm, if I wanted Kraft mac & cheese, especially microwaved stuff, I'd just get the microwavable stuff and do it at my own home. Or I'd go to Boston Market. They have really great mac & cheese.
16i'm kind of a dork and i love kraft mac n cheese but i think that there's something wrong with getting it at BK. i know that KFC does a good mac n cheese and that boston market has an even better one - but still i think that there's something wrong there.
17I'd eat it, mostly because I don't eat beef or pork, so Burger King is not high on my fast food list. If my boyfriend wanted to go, it'd give me something to look forward to.
I wonder how big the portions are?
18definatley if it was 2 in the morning and i am drunk. taco bell and mac and cheese are my drunk food of choice. Hmm- they need to move the mac and cheese to taco bell...
19I'm not a fan of BK but my boyfriend loves it, so I'd give it a shot.
20Now I'm seriously craving KD. I haven't had it in months. Mmmm.
I believe this will taste just like when you go to Applebees and kids order it, it's microwaved but you'd never ever know it, believe my girls can taste that slightest change. I say sure what ever. If they'd do some fried mac-and-cheese like TGI Fridays I'd be all over that.
21Hmm. I haven't seen it, but then again I rarely go to Burger King; not a fan.
22There's something marketing-technically wrong about this venture. 'Mac n cheese' has a subconscious reference to McDonalds: yikes, BK's main competitor. Why would they risk the customer thinking of the competitor's brand of all things??
23You should see fast food nation - you would never go to Burger King or eat processed food again. Disgusting - both products.
24I would never order it, nor have I seen it on the menu. Great kid option.

26I am a Mac'N'Cheese fan but I can't say that I'd associate it with Burger King. But I do think there are lots of little ones who might like it better than fries.
27I would absolutly buy it kraft uses this same frozen mac n cheese at almost any popular restraunt that serves kraft brand mac n cheese. And the funny thing is no one knows the difference and personally I would rather but it then make a box at home cause I think it tastes better and I would know considering I eat a box of it almost every day seeing as its my fav food.I think its a great idea!
