Over at Cupcake Project, Stef has surprised us all with a Corned Beef and Cabbage Cupcake. The cupcakes actually have corned beef in them and the frosting is actually a malt vinegar-cabbage frosting. I think it sounds a tiny bit revolting, but I would love to sink my teeth into one and see for myself. How about you? Would you eat this cupcake?

I'm not a big fan of corned beef, and it would be kind of odd to get flavors like those out of something I'm conditioned to think of as sweet, but, yeah, I'd try it, mostly just out of curiosity. I'd rather have the Stilton-and-bacon cheesecake, though
Well, I'd certainly try it.
I'm Irish, but I despise corned beef - it smells like canned dog food!
Haha, I never have corned beef and cabbage but sure I'd try this just for the heck of it.
i really don't like corned beef..bluecanary I agree it smells like dog food! plus i'm not a big fan of meat made into a dessert item. call me weird, I know it already.
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww......NO WAY!!
ewwww no....
Maybe....
Yes! I love weird things like this!
gross, no. see's candy has a "potato", it's not good and this doesn't sound good either. too much emphasis on theme and not on appeal.
I'd try it.
Here I am again - always up for new food experience. Plus I make CB and cabbage often in a crock pot. And yes my dog loves it too.
I am SO excited that St. Patty's Day is coming so I can have all the CB and cabbage I want! but this cupcake just doesn't seem right to me.
that's awful - i would never ever ever want to try that cupcake
No thank you. I hate St. Patrick's Day because of that horrible smell of corned beef and cabbage that is absolutely everywhere you go - just like bluecanary said.
Hmmm....I think my taste buds would be entirely confused, since they would be expecting a deliciously sweet cupcake, and instead they would be overwhelmed with....that? However, there is a sweet potato cupcake recipe I *do* want to try!
i'd try it. the episode of idnner impossible where they had dessert look like a main dish was on last night. so this is definitely worth a try.
Yes, but it would require beer!
oddly I am not even curious.
I'm not a fan of corned beef and cabbage so no. I agree it smells like dog food. ick
hmm - it sounds like a mini casserole. no thank you!
never ever EVER EVER! Possibly the grossest cupcake ever.
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo :|
No way! yuck! that's mean... I got very excited when I heard the word cupcake. I'm so in the mood for something sweet and have nothing good in the house, except healthy crap.
I'll try it once. If I can handle Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, I can handle this one.
omg, why? Why debase the cupcake so?!
I agree! It's sacrilege! Let's pretend it is a banana flavored cupcake with cream cheese frosting and a walnut on top (if you squint and use your imagination).
If you think about it, it's really just like meatloaf - sure, I'd try it...
Heh, I'm not a fan of corned beef and cabbage - I don't think the presentation would be enough to convince me to have one.
um yea i like my cupcakes to be normal flavored lol i just don't think i could bring myself to eat this
Love corned beef and cabbage...but in a cupcake??!! not so much..eww...
I think it seems interesting. I love corned beef so this could be good. If you read the recipe, the cupcake isn't a cake as much as a meatloaf kind of thing. Like, maybe a cakey meatloaf. I would like to see a picture of one of these cut in half to see the texture inside. I'm a little unsure of the icing, since it does have sugar in it.
Noooooooooooooooooooooo
Maybe if it were the last food on Earth...
I would certainly eat them, but then again, I made them.
Thanks so much for posing
this important question about my cupcakes! I've enjoyed seeing everyone's comments. FYI - They are not meatloafy at all. They are definitely cake.
sounds icky, but I dont like corned beef. I'd certainly taste them though! I'm pretty adventerous when it comes to food, and I often end up liking things i didn't think I would like.
