As I was browsing the new Napastyle catalog, I came across these interesting silicone sealing lids. Apparently they can fit almost every kitchen vessel from salad serving bowl to sauté pan. While they look a little bulky, I love the idea of the lids as they omit the need for tupperware! My only concern is they come in such large sizes with no lid smaller than eight inches. Still, I'm curious to see how functional these are. What do you think of the lids? Useful or useless?

I think they are pretty cool. I especially like the rectagura one, I think it would be useful to use on my pyrex dishes so the food doesn't get cold when you take the dish out of the oven.
They're okay...
I'm still a little iffy on heating up plastic. Even if these silicone lids are "safe", in that they don't release chemicals when heated, I still can't get past the potential. I'll stick to my metal and glass lids for hot pots. But they might be good for my pyrex dishes (as Hipmom suggested) when i store cooled leftovers.
I've never used it. I thought about buying some but I don't specifically need anything right now.
i love it - it saves that whole thing of shuffling around the kitchen after a meal looking for the tupperware top!
I guess their alright. But I wouldn't run out and buy them so fast.
if you regularly take dishes stright from the oven to a potluck, i can see that these might be useful. for storing leftovers, though, this seems pretty clunky and space-wasting.
Or you could just use saran wrap/tin foil!
I like things to be neat and tidy and all matchy matchy, so I would much rather have a set of containers. These would be good for lids if you needed to let something sit covered but didn't have lids or didn't feel like finding the right one.
nifty
I like them!
i like it, but i'd never store anything in a pan, yuck!

Interesting...but if you ask me, nothing beats the good old fashioned zip lock bag.
I saw a commercial for something like this (one of those commercials that looks a lot like a mini infomercial) and I just think it's strange. It would be nice every once in awhile, but I use my pots and pans a lot so I don't want them hanging out in the fridge. Plus, I like things to stack nicely in the fridge and that wouldn't happen with these.
Looks interesting, I might have to try them out.
