I used to have a co-worker that eats the WHOLE apple...core, seeds and all. Well, maybe not the stem but everything else. She said that's how they ate them in her family. Ugh. I couldn't do
it.
The trader joes pre-cut gala apples are great. I usually get a bag to leave in the fridge at work so I munch on those instead of eating bad snack food.
I eat apples whole. And I mean whole! I eat everything except the stem. My favorite memory of my grandma is when she would peel and slice apples for us, telling us stories while she peeled.
I buy bags of pre-cut apple slices. It costs 10 times as much, but it discourages me from eating unhealthy conveinience food. I bring a bag to work and munch on it throughout the day.
As a kid, I once cut my hand pretty bad attempting to cut an apple without adult supervision. Since then, I've never had a craving for apple slices...brings back bad memories. Now I just love
the big crunch when you bite into an apple.
I like mine sliced somewhat thin. I am surprised so many people find it too much hassle, it only takes a moment. Sometimes I get a small cup of peanut butter to dip them in, I love that.
Anyone have favourite kinds? I won't touch red delicious, they are *always* mushy
and flavourless. Unless the store doesn't have them, I always get Pink Lady or Honey Crisp. It's so very worth the extra dollar or so a pound.
AKirstin - I hate red delicious too. They aren't very tasty. Gala is my go-to apple. I also like mcintosh, but only when I pick them fresh. mmmm, so good!
it really depends on the apple, but i eat it both ways. i'm really not a big fan of biting into an apple, but if i'm having one for lunch at work, i'm not going to spend the time to cut it,
i'll just bite into it.
Because today's apples are so huge and often beyond a normal portio of fruit and because of my stomach restriction - I cut my apples into slices and I have to peel them to avoid intestinal
blockage.
And I love apple skins so peeling an apple is not my favorite thing to do. My older sister and I would fight over the apple skin when my mom would peel apples for a pie or cake.
I've been slicing apples up for years. I think it's a habit from wearing braces when I was a teenager. I don't like to bite into anything hard with my front teeth.
I rarely slice them. I usually grab one out of the fridge after a bathroom break at work, and then eat while editing. Considering my time is someone else's money (as a video editor), I need
to be fast. I just don't have the extra 1-2 minutes it would take to cut an apple, when the producer is waiting for me. That's the time I usually eat an apple, when I'm at work as a
midmorning or afternoon snack.
I don't like to eat the apple whole only because I often bite into part of the core.
My answer was "neither": I learned to cut the apple in half, then use the knife to make four cuts to take out each half core (they come out in a pyramid shape).
Sounds wierd but it really does depend on the apple, granny smiths I can eat w/ or without but red delicious or braeburn or gala's I have to have cut in pieces or peeled or both.

My favorite way to eat apples is when they are peeled! Yum!
1I cut them into pieces, i got used to having to eat them that way from when i had braces
2I don't like biting into them so I always cut them up.
3i like to cut them because it is less messy...or seems less messy to me.
4I used to have a co-worker that eats the WHOLE apple...core, seeds and all. Well, maybe not the stem but everything else. She said that's how they ate them in her family. Ugh. I couldn't do it.
5I eat a sliced green apple every morning!!!!
6i eat them whole.
7slicing apples into pieces is too much work, just for eating an apple...
I eat everything but the seeds. I even eat the stem. Then I never need a garbage
8Used to do both, but I became allergic about five years ago and can no longer eat them raw.
9i eat them whole but if i have to share, i'll cut them in pieces
10I just had a delicious green apple sliced up in oatmeal this morning yummm
11if I'm at work or in a public place, I will cut into slices but at home and just bite into it

13I'm allergic to apples
14I eat apples whole. And I mean whole! I eat everything except the stem. My favorite memory of my grandma is when she would peel and slice apples for us, telling us stories while she peeled.
15I eat them whole. Sometimes if I'm making them as a snack for my son and I I'll cut them up with some other fruit and we'll share a plate

18It really depends on the apple, and the size of it. Big huge Fuji apples, definitely sliced. Smaller Red delicious, whole.
19Depends on my mood: Sometimes just eating, other times I peel them or even cut them up.
20biting into an apple whole is so much faster!
21love apples! do it both ways depending on where I am! equally yummy!
22Depends. If I eat it plain I eat it whole. If I eat it with cheese or peanut butter or nutella I slice it.
23I like mine sliced somewhat thin. I am surprised so many people find it too much hassle, it only takes a moment. Sometimes I get a small cup of peanut butter to dip them in, I love that.

24Whole, usually.
25AKirstin - I hate red delicious too. They aren't very tasty. Gala is my go-to apple. I also like mcintosh, but only when I pick them fresh. mmmm, so good!
26Either way. I'll grab one and eat it whole while I'm walking to class - or I'll cut it up and put it in my lunch.

29Sliced only. Very tasty with cheese. Usually my midnight snack. Fujis are my fav.
30I can't eat it whole because it gets stuck in my teeth
31I've been slicing apples up for years. I think it's a habit from wearing braces when I was a teenager. I don't like to bite into anything hard with my front teeth.
32Nothin beats sliced Fuji apples with cheddar cheese.
YUM!
33I prefer to slice them, but I eat them whole sometimes too.
34Sometimes I slice apples, but mostly I'm too lazy, so I eat them whole. I love apples, they are sooo good!
35I rarely slice them. I usually grab one out of the fridge after a bathroom break at work, and then eat while editing. 36I slice them up.
37Now I'm really wishing I had some apples in the house.
38I really like the texture of sliced apples on my tongue. I don't know, it just makes them taste better.
39LOVE them cored and sliced, layered with a great cheese or even a slathering of peanut butter! A nifty corer/slicer makes this a breeze!
40i don't know why, but i like to cut mine!
41I eat them whole.
42sliced with peanut butter
43Biting into apples (or any other hard fruit) make your teeth crooked over time. That is what my orthadontis said.
44I'm an orange person, but when I do eat apples I don't care if they're whole or sliced up.
45the beauty of an apple is that it can go right in the lunch bag as is. of course my kids like them cored, peeled and sliced
i don't eat them at all.
46I don't like to eat the apple whole only because I often bite into part of the core.

48Oops, I forgot to say besides the four cuts I mentioned above, I also make a "V" cut to take out the stem and the other end.
49I like eating them both ways, actually. If I cut them usually it's 'cause I'm dipping them in peanut butter, but I like eating them whole too.
