Call me old-fashioned, but I enjoy the little five-stick packs of gum. They're small and easy to carry, and apparently, on their way out. Yep, they're going the way of the dinosaur thanks to a new move by the Wrigley company. Instead of the simple five-stick rectangular packs, consumers will now be able to purchase sleek and slim envelopes of gum. The slimmer design is part of an effort to revive poor US sales. The packaging has been designed to attract teens and young adults — the folks who chew the most gum.
In addition to new packaging, they're also enhancing the flavors of their gum. The Doublemint, Juicy Fruit, Big Red, and Extra lines are all going to be reformulated to include "significant flavor improvements." They also plan on releasing a new line of gum called Fruit Sensations. The flavors will include Strawberry Banana, Berry Pearadise, Island Cooler, and Sweet Watermelon.
Meanwhile, their Orbit line — which is already slim packed and a hit with consumers — will also get a few new flavors including Sangria Fresca, Fabulous Fruitini, and Fruit Sorbet.
So tell me, do the new flavors interest you? How about the new packaging? Will it sway your gum-buying habits?

OK I don't remember who makes my favorite gum of all time - Fruit Stripe Gum but common people re-vamp that package! Super-size the Fruit Stripe.
And anytime I see Juicy Fruit gum, my mouth waters. I know exactly how Juicy Fruit tastes and feels in my mouth and whenever I've chewed it my mouth waters to excess. So for me a small pack of Juicy Fruit equals drooling. A large super-size pack - can I have a bucket please?
My youngest nephew will be happy with super-sized Big Red. More gum covers to lick and stick on his arm. Werid kid from a weird family.
1*common should be 'come on'
2I'm pretty loyal to Orbit Sweet Mint, does the job without burning a hole in your face. All their fruit flavors have been gruesome for me, won't bother trying the new ones. I'll miss the old packs, but honestly I never buy them anymore.
*just reading about juicy fruit made me want some, I'll have to get a pack for old times sake tomorrow!
3Sangria? lol... encouraging alcohol use among teens, are we?
4Love Gum. My favorites are: Winterfresh, Juicy Fruit, Orbit, Big Red and at Mystic Sea port in CT, they sell this rare gum in one of the shops, it's so good..
5Bigger doesn't always equal better!
6Eck, I will never be interested in fruity gum =/
7I can't wait to try the new fruity gum. my favorite gum is orbitz sweet mint.
8YES! Orbit ROCKS!!! I am chewing it AS WE SPEAK!
9I chew Orbit, but I wouldn't buy the new flavors. I like minty, not fruity, gum.
10I love Big Red.
11I have some sort of allergy to something they put in most gums (I think I've narrowed it down to Xylitol)so really the only one I can chew is Extra. I love the classic bubble gum flavor. I think the newer enveloped packets are great and I hope they come out soon.
12Cinnamon here!
13well this is cool, but i am a bit nostagic for the 25 cent packs.
14I love Orbit, and I am always excited to try their new flavors. I think the Sweet Mint tastes like mint chocolate chip ice cream!
15I remember being in junior high and high school when gum was my life. Trident Strawberry Breeze was a popular flavor amongst us youngsters. Now a days, I rarely chew it, usually just when it's offered to me.
16Well, I like Orbit because it's sugar free- whereas their other brand isn't. I'm obsessed with Mint Mojito and Maui Melon Mint.. can't wait for the new flavors!
17I LOVE ORBIT. I have to buy it in bulk because i go through it so quickly. I've tried a lot of the flavors, but the only one that I really like (and can chew for an extended period of time, and finish a whole pack) is the traditional peppermint. It's delicious! I'm chewing it now, actually.
The cinnamon is good too, but I think I'm allergic to something in it. I get itchy and red all over my abdomen and back when I chew it...very strange.
18oops, the cinnamon is actually "cinnamint"
19so clever
i think chewing gum is gross. and so many people can't chew it quietly. ugh.
