No menu — including an Easter brunch — is complete without a sweet finish. You could order a bunch of fancy pastries from your favorite bakery, or you could use puff pastry to make a sweet, flaky chocolate filled treat in the comfort of your own kitchen. These mini pain au chocolates are deliciously satisfying and beyond simple to make.
I always include them on any brunch menu because rave reviews are guaranteed. To see how they are made, read more.

Ingredients
2 sheets frozen puff pastry (one 17.3-ounce package), thawed, each sheet cut into 12 squares
1 large egg beaten to blend with 1 tablespoon water (for glaze)

- Brush top of each puff pastry square with egg glaze.
- Place 1 chocolate piece on edge of 1 pastry square. Roll up dough tightly, enclosing chocolate. Repeat with remaining pastry and chocolate.

So sweet. And easy.
1so easy...and delicious looking! I'll have to make these the next time I entertain
2I can't wait to try these out!!
3I'm lazy - I'd use crescent rolls and stick a hunk of Hershey's in the middle when rolling them up. Same idea, only a little more country.
4I did kiddy's idea for a really nice dinner party that I had but instead of using Hershey's (never even thought about it but waaay too sweet), I used cut up pieces of semi-sweet baking chocolate. came out amazing!
5Thank you for posting this recipe!
6those sound great!
7Yummy chocolate. But I really love white chocolate too
Mmm
8Sounds great!
9I love pains au chocolat, especially when they're still warm and the chocolate is melting.
Thanks for the recipe!
10looks great and yummy... (hmm) i wanna try this out...
11oh the hall of residence i lived at for a year used to give them to us after we'd have the quarterly fire alarm. the only good thing about getting up at 5 am with a siren blaring was knowing these were coming!
12Ok, I made these for my birthday dinner (my birthday was on Easter this year) and I'm making them again tonight for breakfast at work tomorrow: I'm making 1/3 chocolate, 1/3 strawberry (with strawberries and strawberry jam) and 1/3 apple. I think they'll be great!
13yum
