Believe it or not, February is Return Shopping Carts to the Supermarket Month. Why on earth we need an amnesty month where people can return their shopping carts is beyond me - although, why people would take shopping carts home is also beyond me. I personally try to use tote bags and reusable bags to carry my groceries home. How about you?
How do you get your groceries home?

I get most of my groceries delivered, but for fresh produce and sometimes meats I'll go to the local grocery store and pick some stuff up, which is usually carted around in paper bags
1i go plastic unless its frozens and i dont have an insulated bag with me, then ill go paper.
2Our supermarket chain offers both paper and plastic, and has bins for returning them for recycling.
3Unfort the people who used to bring ht eshopping carts home stopped and the apartment building returned them...it was very nice being able to load up a cart when i got home to carry all my groceries up in one trip...
I'm all in.
4most places in the area i live in only offer plastic bags which stinks. if they offered paper i would go that route.
and i can't believe there is national return your cart month. last night i saw a sign that said february was national pet dental month. who thinks of these things???
5living in manhattan i have most of my groceries delivered, but when i run to the store i get plastic or use a totebag.....but i reuse the plastic as trashcan liners in my bathroom and at my desk!
6I use my bags for garbage; with a plastic one over the bottom of a paper one to keep it from leaking. I get both types of bags as needed.
7I use plastic
horrible I know! They're not even biodegradable... but the grocery store has a
section where you can return your used bags for them to recycle them. I really need to get a reusable tote, but sometimes there's soo many groceries that I can't imagine how many tote bags I
would need to bring with me!!!
8I recycle my plastic bags. Looking at the poll results I see I'm not alone, but this is definitely giving me some food for thought (no pun intended - I'm on a food blog har har)!
9i use plastic. they are easier to carry up 3 flights of stairs, but i don't throw them away.
10I recently bought 3 really colorful printed totes. They cheer me up and apparently other people too, because shoppers and clerks are always asking me where I got them. As for how many bags to carry, start out with 2 totes and go from there.
