This morning, Cajun celebrity chef Paul Prudhomme — who often gets credit for leading the 1980s Cajun cooking frenzy — was hit by a stray bullet. Don't worry though, the man behind the Magic Seasonings is doing fine and was cooking up a feast five minutes later. In what is believed to be a freak accident at the Zurich Classic — a golfing event — in
New Orleans, Prudhomme was struck by a .22 caliber bullet above his right elbow. Strangely, he thought it was a bee sting and did not realize he had been shot until the bullet fell out of his sleeve. The police believe the stray bullet came from somewhere within a mile and a half radius of the golf course. At this time, they do not think anyone was out to get the secret to Prudhomme's magic spices.

what a strange story. And what a terrible occurrence for the Zurich Classic.

I love his magic spices. I'm glad he's okay
2How bizarre/sad--the man is already in a wheelchair! Only in NOLA is a crazy Cajun unfazed by being hit by a bullet...
3Seriously! but anyone who can say, "Enough of this bullet nonsense, let's cook up a feast!" is totally amazing in my book.
4Well...he is a big target.
5What a crazy story. I love the way he brushed it off. It's all about the food!
6i'm glad he's okay - his spices are now safe, lol!
7i read about this yesterday and that's just insane. they say that a 22 caliber bullet can travel up to 2 miles, so i guess it lost a bit of it's energy (THANK GOODNESS) by the time that it reached him. i'm also glad that he's ok...that had to have been a bit 'scary' even if that's not the right word.
