The folks at Panera Bread just revealed the results to a new survey about breakfast. In their survey they discovered that 73 percent of Americans would choose a good breakfast over an extra 15 minutes of sleep. I found this hard to believe as most of the people I know rarely have the chance to eat breakfast. And as much as I love breakfast — and I do love breakfast — I'd opt for an extra 15 minutes of sleep. So tell me, which would you prefer? A good breakfast or extra sleep?

I'd prefer a good breakfast - especially if I don't have to be the one to make it!!
I'd probably take the sleep everytime. And then grab a bagel on my way out the door!
that's a tough one...
I get up at 5:45 -ish every morning but there is no wy i would get up at 5:30 to go make myself a good breakfast.
on the other hand... if i lived 5 mins from work, (hell even if i lived half an hour from work) i would consider this.
Especially if the breakfast was made for me and all i had to do was EAT it for 15 mins
But i usually still eat a decent breakfast... its just 2 hours after i wake up and its at my desk at work...
sleep is too precious... its hard!
Sleep. Sometimes its just so good.
sleep. i can't ever get enough.
definitely a good breakfast- I'll choose that over sleep every time. I'm surprised how much I'm in the minority!!!
SLEEP!
Who took that Panera survey? I know that I'm too busy to have breakfast...
I voted for sleep, but if there was someone in my house making breakfast every morning, I'd probably get up earlier. Although who can eat a good breakfast in 15 minutes? To me a good breakfast is spent leisurely eating and savoring!
If I had a Panera near me I might sacrifice the sleep. I just keep stuff at work so I can run out the door and eat when I get there.
If it's only an extra 15 minutes of sleep, I'll take the breakfast.
I need the sleep but I'd rather have a fabulous breakfast most days.
normally sleep cause i get up early enough as it is- however if someone was making me free breakfast- from time to time i'd take it
sleep, you can pick up breakfast on the way to work
Sleep! I usually don't eat breakfast.
sleep! i still find time for breakfast.
Sleep!
Then a nice bagel and double shmear from Einstein's on the way to work.
My husband makes me oatmeal (the real stuff) or eggs every morning. Thats worth getting out of bed for.
I chose breakfast in bed, it's the best way to have breakfast without getting out of bed.
i love my sleep, but i gotta give it to breakfast. my favorite meal of the day.
I'd choose extra sleep for sure.
sleep. Breakfast is my least favorite meal.
I have two young kids, I did the sleep.
Breakfast in bed and then a nap. Lunch in bed and then another nap. I'll get up for dinner though.
Now who can I get to handle that for me!!
Super Mommie
sleep, glorious sleep.
I do like a well made breakfast, though.
I vote extra sleep every morning. PB&J toast is fast and works well, it's all I need. And if I'm in a real time pinch (like this morning) a granola bar on my way out the door and a mid-morning snack at work.
Sleep! Food can wait, lol.
I vote sleep! I have missed many homemade breakfasts when I lived at home. On those weekend mornings they always smelled good but not enough to get me up and at 'em.
If we're only talking about sacrificing 15 minutes of sleep, then I would absolutely choose breakfast, despite the fact that my alarm goes off at 5:15am. 5:00 it would be!
The problem is that a GOOD breakfast (definition: better than my normal bowl of Corn Flakes) requires more than 15 minutes to make myself and eat. But if I could manage have it made, consumed, and cleaned up in 15 minutes total upon rolling out of bed, I'd be all for it!
I wish I could eat a great breakfast in the mornings, but I just can't get out of bed.
Cooking and eating a good breakfast takes more than 15 mins, If only I could get up earlier...
I would wake up for eggs, bacon, pancakes, biscuits, etc.
Coming from a total morning person, I'd take any breakfast, especially a good one, any day of the week! Mmm.
I'd totally choose the breakfast if it was made for me... but I'd too lazy to wake up to make it myself.
This is a trick question. The question should be which would you prefer: a really good breakfast cooked by someone else or 15 extra minutes of sleep. I wouldn't choose the breakfast if I had to cook it. But if someone brought it to me in bed...well, I guess I'd have to get up and enjoy it.
Can a morning person make me breakfast while I sleep more?
Breakfast in bed is the ideal choice.
I definitely pick sleep during the week, but on the weekend, breakfast all the way (as this usually includes delicious waffles and such!).
I chose sleep - not a morning person, not a big breakfast fan either, BUT my hubby has cooked my breakfast for 25 years and I love it except the hot cereal days. Love the eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, chorizo with potatoes thing but the mush and fruit has got to go. Only eat it cause I have high cholestrol. I'll take lunch and dinner foods any day over breakfast foods especially the waffles and pancakes.
I'd totally take the sleep. I never eat breakfast until a few hours after I'm up anyway...I'll grab a cup of coffee, hit the road, and eat breakfast at work.
Sleep! And brunch later.
breakfast in bed..
im with buzz... sleep now, brunch later
I find that unless I stayed up REALLY late the night before, the later I sleep, the more tired I feel. Having some time up, making coffee and breakfast, wakes me up much more than sleeping in 20 minutes or so and having to rush. It's really hard to get my but out of bed initially, but I get much more done throughout the rest of the day if I do.
Extra sleep as it has been almost 10 years since I last woke up early for breakfast and do not remember what I am missing.
If it were between good breakfast and 30 minutes of extra sleep, definitely the sleep. But only 15? I'll take the food instead!
I'll take both. Hahahaha.
I am the biggest breakfast eater. I make sure I eat breakfast every morning, or else I can't function the rest of the day.
I'll take the sleep, please!
I don't usually eat breakfast since it makes me sick to my stomach to eat so soon after waking up so I'd definitely go for the sleep.
