I've never punched holes in the can, but I've done this before to make banoffee pie. In fact...I feel inspired to make some for dessert tonight. Smiling

I've never poked holes in the can either. But if you don't then you have to make sure the can is completely submerged in the water, even as it boils off or it will explode. I love dulche de leche!
