If you head over to Starbucks' website, you'll find a cryptic message claiming that something big — they're calling it "venti" big — is happening tomorrow. They've been implementing a lot of interesting changes at the coffee giant, but there's no news on what their big announcement will be. All I know is that on Tuesday, April 8 at noon ET / 9 a.m. PT, you should head into your local Starbucks to "celebrate something big." Oh and the website says not to be late.
So what do you think it is? What sort of big announcement do you think Starbucks has up its sleeve?
Update: Nothing confirmed, but I've heard of a new Pike's Place Brew and individual drip coffees. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything else.

Don't think this is the big news but I did hear on this morning's news they will start letting customers pour their own coffee. I guess it would spead up lines for people who just want a regular.
1Maybe they will be coming out with the $1 cup of coffee? I heard about that somewhere, but I don't know if it's true or not.
2i can't even begin to guess what they are going to do. i feel like starbcks really needs to steop up their game since they are so expensive and the lines are insane, and in places like NYC - we have a lot of alternatives - so it's not like we're tied to sbucks anymore.
3Read elsewhere on the net that this might be the news:
4fresh coffee. no older then 2 weeks from the farms. starbucks will be brewing new coffee every 30 minutes as opposed to every hour. it'll be freshly scooped coffee, not packaged grinded coffee bags like it was before. i think also a new pastry.
Maybe an even more expensive cup of coffee. I choose to go elsewhere, local coffeshops are so much better and personalized.
5maybe a SUPER sized coffee?? hahaha.
6Maybe they're going to sacrifice an unknowing barista from each store to the coffee gods?
7lol baby girl! too funny. i hit starbucks waay too often, so i'm hoping the surprise will be something good!
8I've been seeing billboards with the new Starbucks cup and something about Pike Place Market....does this have anything to do with it?
9I've read the same about Pike's Place. There's also mention of them carrying Top Pot Doughnuts.
10damn, now i'm really curious! i think i may have to go.
11Check the Seattle PI- they've been talking about the new Pike Place blend and Top Pot doughnuts being sold in more locations.
12The Starbucks gossip blog (oh yes, there is one, LOL) speculates that the new Pike's Place brew will be FORMALLY introduced, with free 8 oz cups of coffee. The new brewing practices, as noted by Cocoangel, will be implemented, and possibly new cups with an updated logo. Kind of anticlimactic, but I'll be there for a free cup of coffee! =)
13If it isn't regarding the frap or introducing a customer loyalty program (come on!) then it doesn't change anything in my life.
14theyre giving out a 8 oz pike blend coffee to everyone at that time

15Headed out to Starbucks this morning, not knowing what the deal was. Ordered a grande Pike Place Blend, not knowing that was what they were handing out--do you think the girl bothered to mention that I could get it for free?? Of course not. A bit disappointed. (But thought the coffee tasted great).
