at present we still do not have a (real) table to eat at. we don't have a dinning room table or a break room table. all we have is a coffee table in front of the tv. too much car stuff around
the house for a table. when we do eat at the coffee table, we do set it, it's like eating at a japanese house (no chairs).
I set the table most of the time but its pretty simple most of the time- and then more elaborate when I have guests or a fancier dinner or a romantic dinner
I set the table when my girlfriend's over for dinner. I eat at the table every time I cook, so that's not the thing. But I don't set the table then: I just carry my utensils, plate o'
nourishment, and beverage to the table. And I cook pretty often. But setting the table? Special occasions only. And since my girlfriend's long-distance, when she joins me for dinner it's
definitely a special occasion.
I don't ever set the table, but I always leave placemats out because it makes it look so pretty. I have really pretty dishes, so I'd like to leave them out ALL the time, but my cats would
just walk all over them.
I tend to think this is a habit developed in childhood.
I have noticed that if you grew up sitting down as a family to eat, it just becomes the habitual thing to do. Needless to say... I set the table for every meal.
But I have notice with alot of my friends, as I get older, they don't. And are always surprised by my need to sit at the table to eat, for every meal.
My fiance and I have been slowly easing into the very bad habit of eating in front of the TV. Thanks for the reminder! We'll be setting the table tonight!

This soup ends up being a good source of three blood pressure-lowering minerals since the milk adds calcium and the potatoes deliver a dose of potassium, as well as magnesium.
I set it prety much everytime we eat at home
1Only on special occasions or if we have company. Normally, we eat on the couch and chat.
2Lunch + Dinner, always. I don't know if it's a French thing or what. It's just an habit I got from my parents.
3Special occasions.
4Living alone, I rarely even eat at my dining room table. Usually I eat in my family room watching tv with my plate balanced on my lap.
5every meal. there's really no other choice with kids. they would, of course, love to wonder about the house with something in their hands
6I do as often as I can, practically every meal.

although I'm working on breaking him down haha.
8Every meal we set the table. For dinner I light a candle just like my mother use to when I was a kid.
9I do it even when I bring home my favorite $1 meals from McDonald's.
10Never for myself (I just can't be bothered!), but whenever I have friends over whether a special occasion or not I do.
11always with company, but only with fancy meals for my hubby and I.

13pretty much only during holidays. my husband thinks it's silly in general.
14i wish i could convince my husband to eat at the table

18We rarely eat at the table and when we do everyone brings their plates over. It's so much easier that way.
19Eating should be enjoyed and I love setting the table. I make it extra special when guests come over.
