Although bottled water isn't great for the environment, it seems like there's a new kind out each week. We've had holy water, vitamin water, mint water, flavored water and even fiber water. While it seems like you couldn't add another kind to the mix, Los Angeles based Activate is doing just that.
The new marketing gimmick trick is that the vitamins and herbs in their vitamin and herb-infused water are stored in a chamber inside the cap. When you twist the cap clockwise, the chamber is cut and the powder drops into the water below. The founders of the company came up with the idea because they had a hard time remembering to take their daily vitamins. Storing the ingredients in the cap will keep them fresh until they're released.
If you're interested to see how Activate tastes, the purified water is currently available in four flavors — Fruit Punch (Vitamin), Orange (Immunity), Berry (Antioxidant), and Lemon-Lime (Energy) — and claims to have no syrupy taste. There's no sugar — although it is lightly sweetened with Splenda — and it does contain caffeine.
So tell me, are you going to try Activate?

i might try it. i'm a sucker for the packaging and the way that things look. granted i typically choose the types that are 'normal' plain water - but every now and then i like to switch it up.
1I, too, am a sucker for packaging. However, I'm not a big fan of Splenda or any sugar substitute, so the taste might not exactly be great. It sounds like a great idea so that I can get my daily fix of vitamins.
2yeah, they look pretty cool. might have to grab one if it's not too expensive!
3I wouldn't go search them out, but if they show up in my local market and aren't to pricy I wuold give them a try.
4Nah, i'm not interested in it.
5No thanks. I hate hate hate Splenda, and it gives me migraines, so I'll stick w/ my XXX vitamin water.
6Interesting. I might try it. The packaging is very appealing, lol.
7Splenda gives me migraines too! Its too bad it is becoming so popular in drinks lately. That said, this does not seem like a great product. Nice overall look, but too gimmick-y for me.
8I'll try it if I see but am not going out of my way to snag a bottle
9i'm totallllllly with you ilanac and misspache, i'm a marketer's dream and if the bottle is cute i'm all about it....
10Ehhhh, they did it in Japan first. =/
11yeah..i'm totally swayed by cute or trendy labeling and bottles. i'm all for the GT Kombucha drinks and the POM pomegranate teas, and i can tell you i wouldn't have even picked either out in the first place if it weren't for their appearance.
activate definitely has good marketing.
12No thanks...
13I might try it...it looks really neat. I love cool packaging tricks, so I'll give it a go. If it's gross, I won't buy it again though.
14Been drinking this stuff for the past couple weeks and I have to say it is pretty good. the energy is surprisingly good for a lemon-lime vitamin drink, and actually gives good energy! try it guys!
15Its sweetened with stevia not splenda... two different sweeteners, one natural one artificial.
16"deciding between Splenda vs stevia is a easy decision. The fact that sucralose (Splenda®) is chlorinated really turns me off."
I would love to try it, however I am in Boston and they don't sell it here.
