OMG, I had the remote in my hand to shut the TV off and go to bed when Andrew's little comment at the end popped on. I laughed SO hard. Of course, I have no idea what he was talking about...he's a little off the wall...but I thought it was hysterical (and for the first time for Andrew this season. Usually he just annoys me).

I missed that comment! I like Andrew. I also thought Antonia was going to lose this episode because she was getting so much tv time. Similar to how the only Project Runway episode that featured Elise was also her last.

1. I was sort of surprised they seemed to run for the rice first and not the protein. With 15 minutes, I'd have gotten the protein started and then selected the rice, since it only takes 90 seconds.
2. Meal for 4 for $10, we've all done that, but not shopping at Whole Foods! Ouch!
3. I loved the joke. In fact, I can't wait to tell it to my 8-y-o! I hadn't liked Antonia much till I saw this. All I associated her with was that "I'm going to vomit in my mouth" comment, which is getting really old.
4. Cute green apron, I'm liking Richard more and more each week.
5. Antonia got a double-win! It was pretty obvious this was her episode. I've done very well guessing the PYKAG victim till last week.
6. I didn't want Stephanie to go, but tomatoes and peanut butter? That's one of those things that could be really interesting or could suck. Apparently it sucked. I thought that the time had finally come for Lisa. I was sad to see Mark go, but that dish wasn't really appealing, and the others managed to get proteins and dessert for their money.
7. It hurts me to say it but annoying Andrew's dish looked wonderful. Antonia's looked good to.
8. It was hard to say who worked best, but I loved seeing Richard interact with his helper.
9. I think it's still Richard, Dale, and Stephanie (if she gets off this terrible streak, reminds me of Lia) but they showed Antonia as more of a person last night. It was nice.
10. Who knows. Andrew is such a freak it could have been a light breeze from a running Hobart. It was a funny comment though.

Andrew's a culinary loser, who cares.

I'm gonna miss Mark!!

1) i think that they did come up with some GREAT stuff for the quickfire. i don't think that i could have been that ingeinius with rice that fast

2)Whole Foods is expensive so i'm impressed - i could have certainly done it at a regular food store though.

3) i think it was cute the joke that she told her child. sometimes you have to be corny when you're away for so long.

4) how could you not notice? they made a whole segment about it

5) for awhile i thought that stephanie was going to win but you're right i think that antonia will be up there.

6) mark has consistently been sloppy though - so i'm not surprised

7) the spaghetti dish really looked the best - now whether it tasted the best or not - who knows.

i don't know which one i thought was the best. i didn't like how some people talked down to the kids. it's always frustrating when people change their voice to talk to kids like they are 2

8.You know, they all seemed to enjoy working with the kids. I think maybe Spike and Dale had the most fun.
9.I'm rooting for Stephanie and Dale mostly though I like Spike, Andrew and Richard. I think the final 3 will be Richard, Dale and Stephanie (or Antonia)
10.I did see it! I laughed my butt off. Andrew imo is very funny. Crude maybe but I like him. He's pretty real.

This episode was fun...I was happy for Antonia! I was definitely shocked when they still had to shop at Whole Foods for $10, I was certain they would at least send them somewhere with more reasonable prices! I could do a meal for 4 at $10, but probably not at Whole Foods!

I wasn't too surprised to see Mark go, though I was wishing it was Lisa...her attitude is horrible & I am really sick of watching her!

I wondered about the Whole Foods thing too. Living in Chicago, I know there are cheaper places they could have gone and would have made the family dinner idea more realistic.

I'm still sore about Nikki being there after she made italian sausage and peppers.

Me too dmtroyer! I can't stand Nikki. Did anyone notice how all the contestants were talking about the food's they ate as a kid? If I heard Nikki say, "Well I was raised by a single parent" one more time I could have gone insane.

I loved when Tom described Stephanie as a chef who never cooks at home because when we interviewed her she totally mentioned that!

i was SO shocked that Mark got kicked off, considering they basically said that Stephanie's dish was awful, and his just lacked protein and looked sloppy. Even though I'm glad that Stephanie got to stay, I'll miss Mark.

Yeah, $10 at Whole Foods? I'm surprised they pulled it off though. Some of the dishes looked really great.

I actually would eat most of those quickfire dishes — especially if they'd teach me how to whip them up in 15 minutes! The $10 at Whole Foods made me groan — when someone said "chicken is cheap" my boyfriend and I both yelled "NOT AT WHOLE FOODS!"

I thought the editing pointed to Stephanie going home, so I was surprised that it was Mark — though looking back, he did have a lot of screen time, too. Stephanie has been really good up till now and Mark has been pretty inconsistent, so I'm ultimately glad she's around. This episode actually made me like Antonia, which I didn't think was possible.

I'm still rooting for Stephanie and Andrew. The sound on my DVR cut out during Andrew's boner comment, but I'm still shuddering from the image of Richard goin' home and makin' babies.

My husband and I cracked up when they said "you have $10 to feed a family of four ... at Whole Foods." I hope that was a tiny little writer's jab at product placement sponsor Whole Paycheck. I've spent that much on butter there.

Does anyone else w/o kids get a little bored when the challenge is to feed a family? Don't get me wrong, I think it's a good stretch for the cheftestants and definitely a common-sense thing. I just don't salivate over the final dishes when they're attuned to a kid's palate.

Alright, Stephanie did screw up her dish. But I was a little annoyed at the judges for proclaiming that tomatoes and peanut butter was a bad combination. It's a perfectly tasty combination and can be found in several West African dishes. I personally love to make groundnut stew, which includes both peanut butter and tomatoes or tomato paste. I think she failed by leaving it too thick and not processing the tomatoes enough.

There was definitely some significant stretching of the "$10" at Whole Foods. There is no way that any of them could keep it less than $10 with the types of ingredients that they bought. I'm guessing that there is a hefty Bravo discount being used.

I won't fault them for making familiar dishes. If I had to think of something I could cook for less than $10, I'd probably start whipping out some of my grandmother's cabbage dishes.

Top Chef has been good this season...up until this episode. The quickfire was stupid- uncle ben's microwave rice?! Also, there's no way anyone bought a whole chicken and sides (or enough for 4) at whole foods for $10. Due to the stupid challenge, the food was very very uninteresting.

The guest judge was horrible- he had no idea what good food was and had no useful comments to share whatsoever. I was hoping they'd kill him off mid-show.

Hopefully next week's episode is less of a joke.

When is Nikki going home!!! I think she only did well this episode because she can cook at home meals well BUT she is not Top chef winner material. I hope she goes home next week!!

Those Uncle Ben "make in the microwave" rice bags are nasty, they taste ....wrong. Something that takes only 60 seconds to cook is fishy!

I liked mark...Untill he made the comment about "i dont think Tom likes me" and than i wanted him to immediatly go home, what a rotton attitude and really paranoid!

Richards "[After this challenge] I want to go home and make babies. Little Blaises." was the best line of the season so far. I totally melted, even if he does wear pink Crocs.

i think it's interesting because just recently there was a post on one of the sugar sites about how poorer communities are struggling to eat healthy food or afford it....and i think the show demonstrated that it could be done. I think that was more of the point as opposed to jabbing at Whole Foods, it was intented to prove that it's not so bad. But I gotta tell ya, chicken breasts cost nearly $10 so I still don't know how they did it...

The kids were so cute!
