This week our Top Chef contestants had to cook for a group of kids. Surprisingly both beets and brussels sprouts were used as ingredients. Both of these foods are notoriously unpopular with children, and yet came out as a hit. So tell me, if you had to choose, would you end up eating beets or brussels sprouts?

1Beets are like candy to me. I'd love to love brussel sprouts, but I just can't cook them right.

390210 if you cut them in half sprinkle with salt steam them cut side and the drizzle lightly with butter YUM! I buy them in Half Moon Bay still on the stalk. You can do artichokes the same way. Oh I use a cheap Japaneses steamer I got at the Ranch 99 (Asian Market)

5I LOVE BRUSSELS SPROUTS!!! Roasted in the oven with a touch of kosher salt, black and just a drip of olive oil.
I haven't had beets since my mom last opened a can back in 1979 and poured the bloody things in a serving dish and forced my to swallow those bitter things.

32Brussel sprouts are probably my favorite veggie. I've gotten some strage looks when revealing that piece of information! I like them steamed with balsamic vinegar drizzled over them.

41i think that i would rather eat brussel sprouts but to be honest, i'm not sure what they taste like since i can't recall if i've ever had them. i just know that i don't care for beets all that much.

No one seems to understand why I like beets and brussels sprouts. I remember when I was a wee-myself, I apparently managed to eat enough beets that my pee was beet-colored...
