A few weeks ago, while at the Oxbow Public Market in Napa, BellaSugar and I tasted a deliciously creamy cheese. The cheese was called Mélange and was from the Andante Dairy. I loved its blend of goat and cow's milk cheese that created a great flavor sensation. Even Bella — who hates soft cheeses — thought it was fantastic.
There was one teeny issue. The Oxbow Cheese Merchant had been sampling it for a while, so it was a gooey, melty creature. To me it wasn't a problem; in fact, I immediately imagined the cheese spread all over bread. However, another friend couldn't handle it and thought the gooeyness was just wrong.
So tell me, could you eat this melty cheese? Or would you have to turn it away?

Maybe...
Looks soooooo good!
I don't see what the big deal is...I eat melted cheese all the time on/in stuff so what's so bad about gooey cheese? I'd eat it.
I have and it is WONDERFUL....
I mostly stay away from dairy, even though I still have cheese especially for somethings I eat. I guess I would.
i would. it looks like brie and I love brie.
Fork yes! I have and would again many times over. After all, it's cheese, glorious cheese!
Maybe...
I've never met a cheese I didn't adore.
I would, but I reeeally don't like goat milk. I keep trying to eat goat (and sheep!) cheeses, but I can't. Bleh.
Mmmmm....it looks like brie. I'm really in the mood for brie haha.
to quote top chef's andrew, "I have a culinary b*ner."
Rainy,
When it comes to cheese, I have a CONSTANT boner. They always last more than four hours, though. Maybe I should see a doctor?
That looks DELICIOUS. Thanks, now I have a huge cheese craving and Whole Foods doesn't open for another 11 hours!
that is exactly how cheese should look. i want it now.
Mmmmmm cheese.... I'll eat any cheese, any time. It has got to be the most delicious thing in the world...
I adore cheese!
that looks SOOO good! plus...i think i have had it before...and it was GOOD! but i have so much cheese i cant keep track....=P
One word....cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese!
I wouldn't taste it; I rarely like chesse ( I have select favorites) however even if I loved it, that cheese looks/sounds to gross for me.
In that particular picture it looks a little like, um... anyway... I love soft cheeses, and there's nothing I hate more than a brie that's too firm, or not ripe enough. I also love goat brie, but sometimes it's a little too goat-y, so I would really love to try a mixed milk soft cheese. I would definitely try it. In fact I would probably sneak back into the sample line multiple times.
hell yeah!
I love melted cheese so I'd definitely like this one.
I'd tell my friends it tastes like poop so I could keep it all for myself! HAHAHA suckers.
I don't eat a lot of cheese, but this one I'd try. I've tried lots of different artisan cheeses (I'm from Wisconsin, so there are TONS of small dairies that produce their own cheeses here) and I love most goat's milk, sheep's milk, and cow's milk cheeses. I do NOT like most blue cheeses though...the whole mold thing kinda grosses me out.
Oh my word...that looks so yummy...mmm...
Mmmmm. That looks fabulous.
Absolutely! It reminds me of brie and I LOVE brie cheese.
See, I loathe Brie. Just can't get into it. But this cheese... mmmm. It's like Brie's sexy, kinda dirty-hot cousin. Oh, I've got it. To make a LOST analogy, Brie is Jack and this cheese is Sawyer.
looks disgusting.. ick!
I had a similar cheese at a picnic and four of us devoured an entire round in minutes. This stuff is addictive, and it is kind of like brie's naughty cousin.
just looking at that cheese makes me want to vomit.
Yes. Me love cheese.
And I'm still cracking up from yellowbanana's comment.
That looks fantastic. I love Andante Dairy. Hungry for cheese now ...
mmmm...cheese...*homer drooling sound*
I'm soo hungry now...
nope - i would not eat that cheese. i LOVE LOVE LOVE cheese but i hate soft runny cheeses...only hrad cheese or american for me. i'm adventurous to an extent, but runny - NO WAY!
You had me at cheese. You had me at cheese. (squinting eyes and patting chest).
Where oh where can I find this yummy goodie?
