The President's daughter, Jenna Bush, was recently married in a lavish but down-to-earth wedding at her family's ranch in Texas. Few details have been released about the ceremony, reception, and menu but rumor has it the cake was created by the Ultimate Cheesecake Bakery. The tres leches/dulce de leche cake had whipped cream frosting and fresh floral arrangements. By the time this photo was taken, the top tier of the confection had started to fall. While it's sad the top was tilting, it's probably something the happy couple will laugh about for years to come. I'm a huge fan of dulce de leche and can only imagine how delicious the cake must have tasted. Thoughts?

It looks very nice, but the top tier looks like it's about to tip over.
lol, O.K....read the article first UB! Well apart from that it looks really good...and dulche de leche!

The dulche de leche sounds amazing! The outside is a little boring for my taste.
It looks really good.
For all that money... the top was falling over??
It's lovely...and too bad the top tier wasn't very stable. I would have been annoyed about that! I'm sure it cost a small fortune.
Bummer about the top half...
Are you sure that the top tier was about to tip? I have seen a lot of wedding cakes on TV lately that have a tier at an angle.
Nice. Tres leches cake is not a firm cake it is very soft, maybe that is why the top was tilting. I like it.
it would be pretty funny to look back on the cake tipping
i make cakes...and it just sometimes unpredictable. it just happens. it might have been the heat, been such a "soft" cake, the heat caused it to soften and started to fall and sink a bit.
i'm kind of on the fence about this one. it's not to my liking but it is a typical wedding cake and it's nice to look at i suppose.
I'm sorry but wouldn't the presidents daughter be one of the more important clients of ones cake making life? I would make sure the thing didn't tip no matter what. And I know about tipping cakes. The top tier of my wedding cake fell on the floor when we made our first cut.
I'm sure it was yummy, it wasn't fondant!
I love it- the top tier actually doesn't even look bad tilted. It gives a different look to a very classic cake.
I have heard top bakers on the Food Network talking about cakes sinking, so I definitely think it's something that's not in their control.
I would be upset if my cake was tipping over. But Jenna seems like she wanted her wedding to be laid back and casual so I don't think she cared that much.
But the Bush family was told that the cake would be stable, that it would pay for itself, and that the cake would greet them with flowers. One out of three ain't bad. And all this after being told that yellow cake from Niger had sadly gone off the market.
Just kidding - it's a very cute cake.
I saw this picture in People and didn't even notice the top tier! I'm sure that Jenna didn't mind since she seemed very laid back about the whole day!
I think its cute. I thought it was lopsided on purpose before I read the article. I like non-perfect weddings. I hate how people flip out about little sh*t on their wedding day. Get a grip folks! Its supposed to be fun
It's simple, not unique, but really nice. I bet it tasted amazing though!
I am surprised how many people thought the tilt was intentional and I was so excited when I received the email from the folks at The Ultimate Cheesecake, explaing the true "behind the scenes" scoop on the whole ordeal!
It just goes to show, no matter WHO you are, things happen. Clearly Jenna and Henry don't seem to rattled by it (they look happy in the photo!). So many Brides would have let something like this literally overshadow the rest of the day. I am sure the cake was DELISH and their laid back attitude was sure to have made the memories even more sweet!
Thanks for referencing my blog on this story! I am a big fan of the Sugar Team, so I'm thrilled to be featured today!
It looks and sounds delicious!
really i love it and i wouldnt give a rip if the top tier started to fall, its a cake fer godsakes!
beautiful cake, and I think it's awesome that Jenna doesn't seem upset by the top tier!
Its a lovely cakebut they should have known better that dulce de leche/tres leche should NOT be made into a tiered wedding cake it is way too moist of a cake to NOT tip over. (p.s. glad to see that she wasn't thinking that it was the end of the world that it was tipping over!)
i think people stress WAY too much over stupid crap like the cake tipping a bit. So what, you're married! I think the cake sounds YUMMY and it looks simple and classic, like the rest of the wedding pics I've seen so far
It sounds yummy!
ehhh not a fan of the blue flowers or tres leches
There are too many flowers for my liking, but I'm sure the cake tasted delicious.
from all the pictures i've seen of this wedding, i thought the whole shebang looked very nice and classy
I think it's surprisingly elegant and love the flowers, but I'm not convinced on the dulce de leche. I know you love it party, but it's a bit much for my taste
Of course the cake is leaning to the Right. Your tax dollars at work.
of all the things that could go wrong on a wedding day, the tipping top tier isn't that big a deal! i think it's pretty!
they should get their money back b/c the top is coming off.
Horrible Press for that bakery!
Oh, I disagree...the original post (linked in the article) clearly states that the pastry chef was ushered out by Secret Service before she could ensure confectionary perfection!
It's better than cow tipping.
It looks simple but I bet it tasted yummy!
well i put hate it, but i dont hate it...i just dont like it....its crooked for 1...and maybe im just judgin it becuz i want cake to be light pink with eatable flowers and designs all over..shaped in a box form...ha ha
(i wonder if our tax dollars went to support this wedding....)makes ya wonder
I wouldn't care about the cake tipping; it's kind of cute.
However: dulce de leche - YUK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Too sweet.
looooooooooove.
and it looks good, even if the top is tilting a bit
Who could say no to that cake? NOT ME! YUM!
yummy
It looks beautiful and delicious!
the cakes nice
I think it's stunning and elegant the colours remind me of something in Laura Ashleigh love PASTAL!!

You people take the cake! If you have seen any recent cake designs you would know that it is hard to find a design these days that does not incorporate one or more layers to appear unstable. It is part of the artistry. Seriously. You can research it.
