Depending on how much you like seafood, fresh-fish markets can be near paradise or unpleasantly stinky. Since I love just about any kind of ocean bounty, especially when it's fresh, I'm drooling over the photos of the Bergen, Norway, fish market that FinnLover recently posted in my Savory Sights group.
This was FinnLover's first visit to her new hometown fish market, which features live fish, high-end seafood dishes, and everything in between. According to FinnLover:
As you walk around the counters, the fishermen offer pieces of their product to taste, and everything is packed so the tourist can bring some stuff back home, like gravlax, smoked salmon, dried whale, peppered fish, caviar . . . There are also several kiosks that sell sandwiches, fish and chips, king crab legs, and warm dishes with salmon and shrimps.
Don't forget to share your own yummy food photos in the Savory Sights group. To see more mouth-watering pics of the fish market, read more.

Great pics!!! Would love to have had a taste of the peppered fish and the herring.
1OMG, salmon! *salivates and stares* I love salmon more than any other food in the world. What an amazing picture!
2Great pics! Finnlover should be hired by Sugar in order to make outlandish articles.
3Love these photos and the salmon looks incredible! I know FinnLover is going to LOVE her new home in Norway. Can't wait to read about more of her adventures as she settles into life in a new country with her incredible hubby
4FinnLover always takes the best pics! These are gorgeous!
5Oh my lord... That looks amazing.

Thanks!
7FinnLover, you live in Bergen? That's o cool. I live in Stavanger, only a few hours away.
8That's so cool! I just moved here. We're setting up the apartment right now. Luckily there is an Ikea in Bergen because everything is crazy expensive in Norway. I was in Stavanger last week BTW because of the strike at the airport in Bergen. I landed there. I didn't see much though.
9Wow. I wish I had something like that in my town! Yum
10i used to like fish..but now although i can appreciate the pictures...it makes me a bit nauseas. oh well...i'll chalk it up to becoming a vegetarian all those years ago.
11I think I need to move there. This looks great!
12I was just in Norway at the beginning of the month and we couldn't find any whale at the fish market. It was quite disappointing!
You pic looks amazing though...next time I go back to Norway I really want to go to Bergen. Apparently it's one of the most beautiful spots in the country.
13Bergen is such a wonderfull city. How are you liking it so far? I feel ya on the prices, though :)You should definitely go back to Stavanger some day if you ever have time.
14wonderful*
15I went here! My brother bought disgusting smoked whale meat (which I objected to for many reasons). Unfortunately, he then carried it in his backpack for 12 hours as we traveled on a speedboat/bus/kayak from Bergen to the rural western fjords. Ew.
16That looks amazing. Nice pics FinnLover.
17Hey Finn my grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins live in Arendal Norway, and ship me yummy goodies all the time. I grew up eating herring for breakfast, and a smorgasbord for every get together.
just bought an electric krumkake maker off amazon! my old one burns me!
