Whenever I'm dining at a Cajun restaurant, I'm always torn between shrimp-tastic jambalaya and red beans and rice with sausage. So I usually end up ordering a po'boy and gumbo instead. But if you had to choose, which one of these spicy New Orleans rice dishes would you pick?

Torrini
Casadei

jambalaya all the way - I love shrimp. plus, sometimes it also has sausage. yummmm...
1Jambalaya, but I don't think I've ever had red beans and rice?
2I'm always vaguely disappointed by red beans and rice. I've had it brilliantly *once*, but never again: always either too salty or too gummy or too *something*.
3Red beans and rice, but mostly because there's a restaurant about six blocks away that has the most fantastic recipe!
4I love how juicy Jambalaya is!
5Yay New Orleans!
6I love everything from my city but red beans are my favorite!
Man, that is too tough to choose!!!! I love BOTH so much!
7Jambalaya is the bomb but I had to go with my old standby red beans & rice.
8red beans and rice, I've never had bad red beans when I lived in new orleans, even my grade school cafateria's red beans and rice rocked my socks
9
red beans for sure. And Chimes in Baton Rouge has the best I've ever had (besides good
ole homemade)
10I've never liked jambalaya very much. I love red beans and rice though!
11I've never had either... however, I know that I'm not a huge fan of beans (maybe I've just never had them right), and I LOVE shrimp, so I'd probably go with jambalaya.
12I don't really care for either.
13Um, BOTH...and gumbo too, please. And some beignets. Oh hell, now I'm PINING for a nice weekend in NOLA...
14Was really missing the BOTH option on this one... but if I could only have one, gimme jambalya
15I'd rather have red beans & rice, but both are really yummy!
16Haven't properly had either, although I had a ready-meal jambalaya once, and it was a bit wierd. I'd try both though, if they were cooked nicely and freshly
17Yum! I love both... mine is determined by who has cooked it/where I'm ordering from =)
18Red beans and rice, beignets, cafe au lait, oh my!
I am seriously drooling here!
I've never been to Louisiana but a coworker was from there and she fixed some seriously
yummy eats for office potlucks...we were so spoiled!
19I love jambulaya, gumbo, all those fabulous foods!
20Red beans and rice! I use my mom's recipe and it reminds me of home.
21I love them both - what can I say I am a true Southerner.
22I love red beans and rice. It is a staple in my Mothers kitchen... yum!
It is Jambalaya, for me, that can be either really good or really bad... depending on who cooked it. I find the common problem is it's either gummy or over cooked.
23I like the zip in Jambalya but red beans and rice are quite tasty too!
24Both! But since that wasn't an option, I chose jambalaya. mmmmm
25i wouldn't eat either. i think that either one dish has meat which i don't eat or the other has beans and rice which are foods that i try to stay away from - so both are just a no go for me.
26Jambalaya - hands down!
27Jambalaya is always a winner
give me shrimps and chorizo, I'm in
heaven!
28neither..
29crawfish etouffee
30Neither...
31I could never choose. I love them both and some gumbo and boudin plate would be great too.
32Actually I would rather have the crawfish etoufee from Tony's Restaurant/Deli on Plank Road in Baton Rouge!

33can't I have both???
34Dirty Cajun Rice! (w/out liver)
Or red beans and rice.
(I was born a coon-ass unfortunately. I try to rarely have rice though. Mostly eat the cajun foods during Christmas or special occasions.)
35I'm latina so I luuuuuvv red beans & rices, it's pretty much a staple in our diets. But for a yummy alternative instead of jambalaya which is too cajunny for me I'd choose some paella...yum yum yum.
36Both!
