I went through the show expecting to see something totally different, but this is exactly how I cut pineapples too (minus the first step, no need). I feel so vindicated.
I have one of these waiting for me on my counter at home. It was a dollar cheaper if I'd just cut it myself.. and I think you get more fruit out of it that way anyways.. maybe I'll cut that
up tonight!
I actually cut mine differently, so this was a different approach but similar. I first have to say that a good sharp knife is most important. I cut the top and bottom off (don't bother
twisting the leaves off), then cut it in half length-wise. Then I take those two halves and cut them each in half length-wise. I hold them upright and slice down to cut off the core. From
there, I cut each quarter in half width-wise. I hold the piece in the palm of my hand and cut across the rind. From there I cut the soft fruit into chuncks and enjoy!

That looks good right about now!
1No offense, but that seriously needed explaining? What's next? How to peel carrots?
2I thought it would be a lot more complicated than that. Thanks for the tutorial, pineapples are intimidating.
3As a former produce assassin, I def. endorse this method. (Except the first step, which can be skipped.)
4I love fresh pineapple. super yum!
5Nice article. I know that most people have no idea how to cut one up.
