While I was writing about my common kitchen mistake — I'm prone to burning plastic cutting boards! — I realized the best way to avoid burning any more would be to invest in wooden cutting boards and I asked you to help me find them. You looked for different sized, wooden cutting boards that are thick and durable. You bookmarked the boards in the Yum Market on TeamSugar with the keyword tag, Wood Cutting Board. I like the pale color of these bamboo cutting boards that jopperma discovered. They are lightweight and environmentally friendly. Check out the wood cutting boards below and let me know which one is your favorite!

I love bamboo because it's a very quickly renewable resource and it doesn't mess with my knives. Nice choice, too.
1I love the Acacia ones from Crate and Barrel. Very nice!
2Huh? How in the world do you _burn_ a cutting board?! LOL
Are you chopping so fast that the knife catches on fire?
Seriously, what in the world is happening that causes you to burn your cutting board?
3Ah. Sorry; just clicked through & understand. Yipes.
4Hubby bought me a Myrtlewood board in Oregon 3 years ago. I keep it oiled with EVOO (sorry all you RR haters) and it's the best. Plus they make them in all sizes.
5i have a crappy cutting board... the ones i buy usually end up warping. does bamboo warp? i have yet to try one of those.
6Swedeybebe - don't buy a cheap cutting board, it will always warp IMO. Never tried bamboo, but Myrtlewood is super in my book (see post above yours).
7I have a bamboo one that I like, it's too small though. And it's now cracked because the cat knocked it over when he pulled the table cloth off the island... I need a new one and I want bigger, and I need to get my chef's knife professionally sharpened.
8amberhoney- thanks for the recomendation! the only thing i have myrtlewood is a cute little xmas ornament... happens to be from oregon as well! i'll check the cutting boards out..
9Swedeybebe - Google myrtlewood.com there's a bunch of listings from OR. Good luck!
10bamboo material is recommend for kitchenware due to its unique grain and eco-friendly nature.
