I found these beautiful Laurence Brabant handblown Pyrex Expansif Mugs ($34) at a local boutique. They seem so elegant, yet whimsical, and I love the way the handle is part of the vessel too. What do you think? Would you make these crystal clear mugs a part of your morning routine?

They really are EXPENSIVE ($34?). Though I guess that's a reasonable price for handblown glass if you like handblown glass a lot. Wouldn't the handle burn your hand if you use it for hot beverages? So no hot beverages in these then, probably.
expensive + weird = no thanks
I'm afraid I'll burn myself on the handle if I use it for hot liquids, or that I'll crack it.
Additionally, that little nubbin inside the handle sounds like it'd be an absolute BEAR to clean.
They are cute though...

eep! sorry to post twice!
Gotta agree with shoneyjoe. From a functional standpoint, this mug doesn't work. If you put hot liquids in it, the handle is going to get hot (made of glass...). And it looks difficult to hold
I really like them, I like the mix of glass/mug.
I'd probably knock them over, absentmindedly reaching for the handle.
I had a ceramic mug made like this once. The handle got too hot to touch. Not good.
Cute shape but I'd be too afraid it would slip out of my hand if the handle got too slippery. I'm a big clutz to begin with.
i like how they look, but i have to agree with shoneyjoe, too.
you definitely wouldn't be able to put this in the dishwasher, that's for sure.
It's pyrex so I doubt a little hot liquid will hurt them but I only use mugs for hot coffee or tea. I think it would burn me! I also prefer a handle with a hole in it so that I have a better grip on a full cup which can be a little heavy.
You couldn't hold it if hot liquid was in there. I don't think it would be really practical and it's too expensive for something so simple.
Potentially hot handle, difficult to hold, and too expensive. No thanks.
Not sure...I like the look of it, but the fact that the hot liquid is in the handle scares me off. I would maybe use it for cold beverages, but that's it.
i dont think i'd be able to grip it properly.
They are cute. It reminds me of the cups I used to drink out of as a kid that have the straw attached as the handle!
i have some!! only the handle is different but i think they're so cute!
I like them! But I wouldn't spend $34 on one mug.
Pretty, yes, but also too expensive and impractical. How would you have hot tea or coffee in one of these? You'd have to wear oven mitts to drink it!
I can see a lot of these being dropped and broken. No thanks.
It would be too hard to clean, even with a dishwasher.
Good point, kiwi! I was just going to say how much I like them but not for the price.
wouldnt want to burn my fingers with the hot handle
