Mustard potato salad all the way! I cannot stand coleslaw. YUCKY.

I have had so much good and bad of both of these sides, so it really depends on how it's made. But my hubby hates cold potatoes, so I always do up coleslaw. Or deviled eggs!

Cole Slaw as long as it is Asian Slaw (I might also eat it if it has a vinegar or mustard based dressing).

I only like cole slaw if it is sweet and pre made!

I generally shy away from both because most cole slaws and potato salads out there more closely resemble mayonnaise salad. I like vinegary cole slaws, the most memorable ones are invariably based in Thai flavor profiles, and potato salad dressed only in vinegar and peppery olive oil.

Both are usually mayonnaise based, which I hate. I usually prefer an Italian pasta salad, made with olive oil and red wine vinegar.

I'm picky... I don't like the mustard kind of potato salad. My hands down favorite potato salad is red potatoes, mayonnaise, salt, pepper, dill, & BACON! (You are supposed to had sliced green onions too, but I never do). This combo is so great. Every time I make it people always want the recipe!

And I only like coleslaws that aren't mayonnaise based. I recently had a surplus of radishes & cabbage from my CSA share and I found a recipe for a radish coleslaw with honey mustard & vinegar! It was REALLY good.

Potato salad is always good, but I could deal with cole slaw if I had too. But then again it depends on who makes both of them. Some people claim to make the best of one or both, when actually theirs taste awful.

I love 'em both! Slaw wins out if I am having saucey BBQ of any kind. I opt for potato salad when it comes to burgers and chicken.

I actually can't stand either. But a macaroni and tuna salad is always welcome!

I like this pasta salad that my MIL makes, it's just tube pasta with mashed up hard boiled egg, a bit of mayo and some S&P~ sounds wierd, but I like it.

As long as the potato salad has no mayonaise or grease and is a vinager/onion base I'll eat it

My Mom makes the best potato salad! If I couldn't have hers then I would have a regular green salad. I don't care for coleslaw or other types of potato salad.

I picked coleslaw but love them both AND must agree with most of you - I'm not a mayo fan, love the vinegar. So I guess it depends on who/where made it. Next time make a column for I LOVE THEM BOTH, please.

I love both however I voted Coleslaw since the only potato salad I LOVE is my great-aunt's potato and egg salad recipe; and of course that wouldn't be available at someone else's picnic unless I brought it. Also, the coleslaw can't have too much mayo or vinegar, it has to be the right combo of the two otherwise it goes wrong. (My father makes a wonderful coleslaw every summer.)

You would never believe it, but my favorite potato salad comes from Paula Deen- and it contains NO Mayo at all! It's amazing, and I can use Enova oil instead of olive oil or something else (which makes me feel just a lettle bit better) and incorporates tarragon vinegar to give it the majority of its flavor. Go figure from someone who's favorite line is, "It's just butter, y'all!"

I make a really good potato salad that's just red potatoes, vinegar, and such. Not the mustard/mayo concoctions. i hate those! Assuming those are what this poll references, I'm going with cole slaw, only as long as it's not too oniony. The kind from KFC is perfect! lol Do I sound picky or what?
