These days rarely do people have one permanent job description. Actors are singers, singers are clothing designers, and fashion designers are kitchen architects? We all know that Kate Spade, Ralph Lauren, and Calvin Klein have been creating elegant and chic accessories for the home for ages now, but did you know that Giorgio Armani (besides having a specialty cocktail) has designed a kitchen for an entire set of apartment buildings in New York City? Located at 20 Pine, the exclusive apartments are interior designed and decorated entirely by Armani. The kitchen is camouflaged with all of the cabinets and appliances sleekly concealed behind wooden cabinetry. While I enjoy the kitchens stark modernity, I worry about its functionality. There is very little counter space. I don't know if I would want to have Armani's kitchen in my home. What do you guys think, Armani kitchen: love it or hate it?

I hate it because I would never, ever be able to live with a kitchen like that. But for pictures, it's quite pretty.
1love it but it wouldn't fit in with the rest of my apartment.
2It looks too impersonal, and not a place I'd want to make a family meal, or cook at all... I'd be scared to mess it up!
3It wouldn't look right in my house (old townhouse), but I think that it is gorgeous!
4undecided cos as lovely as it looks, it doesnt look like its meant for actually doing any cooking in it! LOL
5This looks less like a kitchen and more like a dojo to me. So you know if someone wanted to do martial arts in style, this is the way to go. Does Armani make karate uniforms
.
6my husband would love this!
7kitchens need to look like kitchens! that's the whole point! food is about culture, not fashion.... sigh.
x thatsvy
8Exactly, thatsvy! Houses are supposed to have kitchens. They aren't something to be embarassed about or hide away!
9Love it! Both my husband and I are minimalists or try to be anyway! Plus it's totally child proof at first glance and easy to do so if not.
10It's obviously designed by someone who has never cooked. Pretty but totally impractical.
11It's not homey. It's too formal, maybe it would be okay for someone who doesn't cook, but kitchens are supposed to be homey, in my opinion.
12Visually I love this, but it definitely needs a matching island or something. The lack of counterspace is ridiculous. However if you're paying for an Armani kitchen, I think you're probably eating out all the time anyway...
13Oh yes, I LIKE it!
14It looks like something out of the 70's.
15This kitchen has a modern design, which am not a huge fan of. I'm more of a classic person and kitchen are supposed to be for cooking and practical for everyday use.
Designers are invading everything?! I said it once before and am saying it again! Stick with the fashion industry and leave everything else to their specialists !
16I would be nice to see what it looks like with all the cabinets and things open......
17It's nice and clean to look at, but it'd be terrible to cook on. There is one tiny wedge of counter space that I can see. Is there a fold out counter tucked away in one of those compartments?
18I think it's beautiful! It's clearly not for me, or anyone who really likes to cook.
But, it's beautiful.
19How...how utterly unusable as a kitchen. Not enough counter space, no defined work triangle... good for a light use kitchen, but not for a workhorse kitchen.
20It's very beautiful, but seriously.... I need some counter space or, as yum suggested, at least an island... where do I put the phone, food processor, coffee maker, toaster, etc etc etc???
21It's cool but kinda cold
22Are you kidding me lol? That looks like an entertainment center missing a TV... NOT a kitchen!
Everyone has their own taste, but I feel that the modern trend towards minimalism LACKS WARMTH! Seems like everything is being designed to intimidate and impress, rather than to invite.
23I think this kitchen is beautiful. I love minimalist spaces. But hopefully some of those cabinet doors fold down into countertop spaces...that would make it perfect
24i need a kitchen that looks livable, this would never work for a family, i mean , it would, but i want a kitchen that looks like its made for a family... you know what i mean?
25i agree with those that said it was too cold. i think it makes a pretty picture but it just doesn't seem practical. i want my kitchen to be lived in and used with friends and family partaking in food preparation. this is none of those things. this does not say warmth and love and hearth and home.
26I've seen hotel kitchenettes with more counterspace....
27While it is quite sleek, it just seems a little too Jetsons to me. I would expect the drawers to open by a simple finger push and the faucet to be motion sensored. It has possibilities but I dont have the kind of bankroll necessary to make it all work.
28i love the fact thats its armani, but it aint pretty!
29Yes, it would be nice to have designers kitchen, it would be awesome...like i said looks are also important.
LOVE IT!
