Other - Sometimes, but not because of a recipe. We use this Dale's marinade that only takes like 30 mins. We don't have a grill though, so we don't need to marinate often.
If you want something fast and easy...teriyaki sauce. You only need to marinate for about a half hour. Any longer and the protein will get a little too salty. I find it great for chicken
thighs.
I almost always marinate my meats and tofu. Most only take 30 minutes or so to absorb the flavor. When I'm on top of things, I'll marinade all afternoon. I hardly ever use recipes for them,
however, I'll use what's on hand and invent a new one!
The boyfriend likes to grill steak and scallops. We always let them marinate in the fridge overnight in a mix of beer, sea salt, and adobo seasoning. So yummy!!!
I'm not sure I'd marinate a scallop. I do marinate pretty much any sort of land-based protein: beef, pork, lamb, chicken, etc. Great stuff. I actually keep a zip-lock full of marinating pork
chops for a moment's notice. If I cut the chops myself from a loin, they tend to keep a little longer.
i personally never use marinades but thats because my husband is the marinade master. he always puts something on what we are eating. well i take that back, when i have him grill tofu i make
the marinade for that.
I love marinades. I make my own a lot, but for quick weeknight dinners I sometimes use bottled. A1 New York or Chicago Steakhouse are at the top of the list. Lawry's Steak & Chop is good,
too.
I don't do the grilling, but the hubby almost always uses a marinade. He likes using recipes and finding a different one all the time. It's way better than bottled.

7I use marinades all the time. Especially when I make pork roast, I let it marinate for at least 24hrs.
8I do sometimes, but I like rubs more.
9Absolutely! But only homemade. I never did find a bottled version that I liked. Lawry's tasted like plastic to me!

12I marinate a lot, yes, and not just for grilling. It makes everything so tender and the flavors are so good!
13Always for grilling.

15of course!
16yup - my fiance and i almost always use marinades. it always adds a little something to the dish when you have another flavor layered on.
17They make the meat taste better and they make grilled meat less carcinogenic. A win/win for me!
18sometimes if a recipe calls for it or I want a little extra vavoom!

20I love marinades, whoever thought of them is a genius in my book.
21I don't think I could cook meat without them!
