At some point in every reality TV cooking competition the contestants are asked to make their signature dish. The dish should define their culinary point of view, highlight their skills as a chef, and be incredibly delicious.
Summing all of these things up (on one plate!) seems like a difficult task. I find it hard to choose one dish that represents my entire cooking style. However, if I had to choose, it would probably be some form of nachos with a cocktail on the side. In my opinion, nachos are the ultimate party food!
How about you? What is your signature dish?

Mine is my chicken enchiladas. I don't think it's my favorite dish to make (especially because shredding the chicken takes forever!) but it's the most requested dish in my recipe collection
1Oreo truffles, not my recipe, but what everyone requests I make!
2Fried shrimp! My mom's recipe beats all so we make it for company and special occasions.
3It's gotta be homemade mushroom and spinach veggie burgers!
Or, if we're talking baking -- it would be my blueberry lemon cake with lemon cream cheese frosting! I make it every year for my husband's birthday.
4Twice baked potatoes topped with cheese and bacon.
5I have a zillion different spins on Ina Garten's coconut cupcake recipe! Plus, I decorate them differently very time for a new spin on it--piping, sugars, sprinkles, yay!
6Teriyaki marinated pork chops with a lemon-garlic risotto and asparagus with miso butter.
7I don't have a signature dish. I love change, so I love trying new recipes & new things. I guess you say my signature is "Cupboard/Freezer/Fridge Soup". I open all the cupboard doors, do a quick inventory of the fridge & freezer, then just start pulling things to make into a soup!
8Rice with kielbasa it's my son's favorite.
9Mine is risotto! My favorite is with saffron, mushrooms and castelmagno (a delicious italian cheese).
10Lasagna!
i have been wanting to make some but it is sooo hot out
11I don't have one either. I have a few things I make somewhat regularly, but nothing that screams me on a plate.
12My three most requested dishes don't go together at all. They're all made at separate times of course: i make a corn pudding, got the idea and modified the recipe from a local resturant. Then I make a great spaghetti that's from an ex's family recipe from italy, and this pie that's a combo of graham cracker crust, blended cream cheese and sugar, dream whip, bananas and blueberry topping. None of these things are health concious by any means but oh so tasty!
13I'm good at making pie, mixed berry and wild blueberry are my best. They aren't tricky, but I think people eat way too much cake nowadays and its a nice change. Also, potato salad with bacon and green onions, people love that. I also like to cook chicken with smoked paprika, I have a couple recipes, most people do not use smoked paprika regularly so the flavor is new and exciting for them.
14I dont suck at cooking but I dont think I have one, probably because I only cook for me and my husband. Everyone has liked my choc chip cookies though, but how can u go wrong with that?
15lime cilantro chicken fajitas. My ex and I used to make them all the time in the summer. Great with queso and mexican beer or margaritas! I don't think my new boyfriend likes them as much because I make them really spicy
16I think mine would have to be either my fried chicken or my shrimp and scallop alfredo.
Mmm. I'm getting hungry for my own cooking now!
17Lasagna with made-from-scratch tomato sauce and a nearly felonious amount of ricotta, deli motz, fresh motz and parm!
18Eggplant Parmesean, I am constantly asked to make it for company.
19i don't cook but i bake- i get requests for my snickerdoodle cookies!
20I have several, but primarily Chicken Satay, Red Beans and Rice, or Baked Spagetthi.
21Key lime pie and chicken parmesan are my "most-requested" but they're not too exciting.. I've made good risotto a couple times, but have not really made my own special recipe out of it yet. I'll have to work on that!
22My friends and family always request that I make my Newcastle chili! For get-togethers/potlucks, it is my napa slaw and creamed corn:)
23It would have to be a tie: my Cacio e Pepe, parmesan potatoes, fire & sugar chicken, or my BBQ shredded chicken. Mmm I'm hungry now!
24Probably my shrimp curry with apples
25probably my banana bread. my dad would say my taco salad though!
26Risotto. Shortbread. Zucchini muffins. Guess I'm more of a baker than a cook, except for the risotto.
27My Beef & Spinach Pie with tomato gravy... I make a really good lasagna too though :0
28Mine is lamb biryani....
29Lasagna definitely and not traditional
30Vegan cupcakes. people love them (most don't know they are vegan) and I love making them.
31Roasted Cornish hen with wild rice or risotto for company dinner... smashed potatoes or homemade waffles with homemade chicken gravy for casual...definitely my bittersweet brownies or frozen lemon mousse pie for dessert
32I have several things I make that are requested time and again. My 'Like Fried Chicken', my roast chicken, my Mediterranean Chicken, my Devil's Food Cake, my turkey meatloaf, my stuffed peppers,.............I'm always flattered at the range of things people request.
33My gorgeous, colorful salads with roasted bell peppers.
34chicken meatballs
We eat them with pasta, as meatball subs or all by themselves. I originally found the recipe in The Biggest Loswer cookbook and just kinda made it my own.
35my kids love for me to make mac n cheese, is this what I am reduced to?? lol
nooo for us adults I like to make mexican food the best
36I can't say I have one - I'm a new recipe every night person, but hubby's summer request - fresh tomatoes (from my garden) sauce, nothing else just pasta and sauce w/parme of course.
Some of the dishes listed sound delish - please post recipes soon!
37well in my house i'm well known for my chocolate mousse... also i made spaghetti with everything... shrimps, a la putanesca, with some huitlacoche (very mexican of me)
38My signature potluck dish is homemade cheesecake.
At home, I don't really have one, but family members often ask me to make my spinach enchiladas (which was stolen from a Sunset book originally).
39One of the few things that I bake is apple crisp, but only during our wonderful apple season. I brought one to a birthday party last fall, and the guest of honor threatened to pummel anyone who was even thinking of taking the last piece. Aside of crisps, though, I pretty much universally suck at "sweets" baking. If there is one person out there that can fork up frozen cookie dough, I'm your gal!
40My cupcakes, definitely.
My mum reconnected with an old schoolfriend recently,
because she started working at the archives where I have a student job, tried my cupcakes in the staffroom and found out who I was. The power of baking!
Otherwise, it would be baked sundried tomato falafel, which I make all the time.
41My signature dish is pan-fried porkchops with glazed apples. I "cure" the porkchops for about 15 min by rubbing them with a brown sugar, salt, and rosemary mixture. Then I fry them in a tbsp of bacon grease. When the chops are done, I remove them and add the apples to the pan with some apricot preserves, chicken broth, and a splash of brandy and let simmer for about 10 min until they become glazed. It's soooo good:)!
42^Yum, julie! Sounds great!
My lemon blueberry cheesecake is always a hit in the spring. I also make a pretty good filet mignon.
43i guess my signature dish would be hot wings. everyone loves them- perfect for watching the football game on sunday afternoons...
44I don't know if this counts as a signature dish, but I am very proud of my green beans and they're always a hit....
45definitely my different variations on Amy Sedaris's vanilla cupcakes, complete with my own buttercream&cream cheese icing. Then my sweet noodle kugel or my chocolate cakes (with Ghiradelli ganache and fruit preserves.
46Chicken curry, a green Thai style I inherited from my British grandmother who grew up in China. It's an event when I make it. Also the entire classic Thanksgiving menu:Turkey with homemade stuffing and giblet gravy.
47mine would be potato salad, homemade chicken and dumplings or beef stew
48That's a tough one! I would say my signature meal would either be pesto and goat cheese stuffed chicken breasts or blackened steak salad with blue cheese, roasted bell peppers, sauteed mushrooms, onion, and toasted pecans. That's my husband's favorite!
49My homemade tomato sauce with meatballs, lasagna and quesadillas. I make a ton of both chicken and steak, both marinated and make several different types with all different insides and cheeses.
