In an attempt to make herself more likable, Lisa Fernandes, the Top Chef runner-up who everyone loves to hate, has made her first cooking video for Time Out New York. Sporting her fabulously boyish haircut, Lisa takes viewers inside the kitchen of the New York City restaurant where she works, Mai House. She promises to teach us how to make an entire Asian meal, complete with five dishes, for less than $20.
Although she's a little cold to the camera, I can't help but admire her culinary expertise, cooking technique, and confidence despite what others may think. What do you think? Watch the video below and let me know, is Lisa more likable now outside of the competition?

Her technique's never been the issue. And the food always looked delicious... I just don't like her as a person... or her "fabulously boyish" haircut. Ew.
1I'm not sure I'd even go so far as to say I don't like her as a person, as much as I really didn't care for her as a TV character. I don't think I *would* like her as a person, but I haven't met her yet. I know that I didn't care for watching her on TV and I wasn't always terribly impressed with her food either.
2What I really couldn't stand about her was that scowl. The crossed arms, and the triple chin scowl at judging. If ya can't take a bit of criticism don't go on national tv and ask people to judge your work!
3i think she's a great chef. not so hot on her as a person, from what i've seen on top chef.
4Great find! I love her new haircut, and she definitely seems more appealing here.
5I never really had a problem with her being a b*tch, I know they edit things to make it interesting.
My real problem came with the fact that someone who was consistently in the bottom made it to the final three, there were a lot of people who should have been there over her.
6I"ll wash in her kitchen any day.
7i'm sure that she's really a bit more personable outside of the show - it's a rough environment to be in while you're filming and in the midst of a competition. i'll have to check her out - i don't know if i'll like her anymore -but i think that my opinion can be swayed.
