Last night on the Next Food Network Star, the final four arrived in Vegas, dined with Paula Deen, and competed in a scaled down version of Bobby Flay's Throwdown. Perky Kelsey was sent home for making dishes that were too complicated. Certain she was a Food Network shoo-in, I was shocked when the judges asked her to leave.
How abut you? What did you think of the elimination?

I was actually rooting for Kelsey, but after last night's food disaster, she def should have gone home.
1OH no, I missed the episode but I loved Kelsey
2Wow, spoiler right in the title!. Guess i don't need to watch the episode now. Thanks Sugar.
3Actually, I'm more surprised that you spoiled last night's episode for me! Don't you consider that people TiVo the show and can't watch it right away?
Anyway, I'm disappointed Kelsey was kicked off, I really liked her and I thought she'd have a great show. I hope that really annoying guy doesn't win. You know who I mean.
4God this sucks, you spoiled it for me! Who puts the spoiler in the title!?
5Count me with the "mad about the spoiler in the title" camp!
6Wow, I had the same thoughts as almost everyone above. I Tivoed it and didn't know that Kelsey was kicked off! The past several weeks I have just avoided the NFNS posts until after I've seen the show, but with this in the title, that didn't work . . .
7i meant to watch it last night but missed it for some reason. i'm sure that i'll catch the rerun one of these days - but by hearing that kelsey is gone - that's really not news to me. i think that they really wanted her to succeed, but she just wasn't doing it. i think that they know who THEY want to win, and we'll just see if the producers can edit the show so that the american public gets what their direction is as well.
8The show sucks. Who even cares who wins?
For all you people that didnt watch it yet, too bad! Maybe you shouldnt read this, since there is a post after every show, until you've watched it.
9Wow, way to bring the ugly, harstad. I'm pretty sure every relative of anyone competing on the show cares who wins. There are a lot of shows I don't care for (I won't use the eloquence you did by saying they "suck") yet I don't make it a point to say so on their comment boards. Please take your rude coments elsewhere.
10Harstad, we are all upset bc yum put the spoiler in the title of the post so it is not like we could avoid it even if we wanted to!
11whoops, I realized it was partysugar not yum...
12Ok, on the one hand I was suprised, but then they kicked off Shane last week, and so I wasn't as surprised as I would have been if they hadn't done that.
Shane and Kelsey both had really good runs, and the judges definitely based their decision on that days competition.
I have no clue what Adam is still doing there, honestly. He has historically been far worse than both Kelsey and Shane, but then again, he did better than they did in the competitions that were left.
I don't think the competitors this time around are as strong as they have been in past seasons...not with a guy like Adam in the final three.
Now we have Adam, Lisa and Aaron...neither one of them are food network star quality yet, but Adam really needs to go next. Aaron is my favorite right now, but I just don't think he's got a clear win yet. I hope Lisa and Aaron can overcome their camera difficulties, because at least they really know how to cook...
13Wow, I DVRed this episode........ since when does yumsugar post spoilers in the title??
14I was so upset when they kicked her off! Of the four that were left, I would have watched only her show.
Looking back, I could see it coming, completely. Bob kept picking at her for her age. It's such a catch-22 for her: she has to draw on her life experiences, but she can't mention them, heaven forbid the audience realize that she's young. Then all three judges began saying she didn't have enough life experience. My question is... why allow her on the show in the first place? No one is going to be 23 or 24 and have the kind of life experience they appear to be looking for from her.
I'm extremely disappointed with the final three. Aaron's personality is a little dry for me. Adam doesn't have a point of view. And Lisa... well, Lisa strikes me as the most sincere of all of them and I'm on her side now. But I can tell that the judges like Adam a lot, and probably are leaning toward him to win because personality is more valued than food. Ugh.
15I was surprised at first but realized the little mistakes she keeps making. As everyone else is improving she failing to fix her mistakes.
16I wasn't too surprised. I think she needed to go for the same reason Shane needed to go. They both are very young and need more life experience not only in the culinary world but in life in general.
17BTW, that photo makes her look psycho. LOL!
18That one last culinary school mention did her in along with her misstep of what she prepared. But she exited with grace and a good attitude and didn't burn any bridges. Plus the Food Network brass loves her so I would expect to see her on the network at some point in the future when she has a little more experience under her belt.
19Boooo! Not only a spoiler before the "click here for more" but in big letters in the title. I was looking forward to curling up with the new episode tonight.
I was actually rooting for Kelsey...
20Oh she was SO annoying. I am glad she's gone.
21Okay, I'm going to play devil's advocate for a minute, cuz all these posts are bugging me...
No one yell at me, I'm not saying this to anyone in particular, it's just a bug that's stuck in my craw...
It's not the websites responsibility not to spoil things AFTER the episode has aired. It's OUR responsibility to avoid places that talk about it. Secondly, you know Kelsey got kicked off right? Do you know what she cooked? Do you know what the challenge was? Do you know what she said after she exited? If you only got the bit of information given in this post then you know NOTHING except the outcome. The show is still very entertaining. I mean, you still get to see Squinty Lisa and Perky Kelsey do their "Thangs" through the whole show!
I don't know, I don't watch the weekly eps JUST to see who gets eliminated I watch to see what they will cook, how they interact etc. The final outcome is just frosting. Now, if it was the very LAST episode, I'd feel differently, because that one IS all about the end. But this ep? Nah, I think it's not biggie.
22Well said Mykie. True foodies watch the show for the whole spectacle.
23Well said Mykie. True foodies watch the show for the whole spectacle.
24Well said Mykie. True foodies watch the show for the whole spectacle.
25Oops, sorry guys, hit the button one (or two) times too much! ;;-)
26hahahaha Flying, I thought maybe you had a bad case of "Stutterboard" LOL
27Mykie! WHERE have you and your sexy avatar been, girl? I was going to defend Sugar, but you already did it so well!!
28hey harstad and mykie7, how 'bout this dang post was featured on POPSUGAR - i've never even read yumsugar, but there it was, ruining the show for me. that fact is the lamest.
ice princess better not win, or else i quit watching fn.
29Oh Robin girl, it's been crazy busy at work! I'm tellin' ya, if I had 3 more of me it wouldn't be enough!
eggy yeah, that is true, but again the episode has already aired, and Pop can't make EVERYONE happy, if they didn't put it in the title people would complain about THAT.
But yeah, if Squinty McSnob wins I'll be really upset. She may have the most food knowledge, but she's got ZERO personality and is a stuck up Squinty McSnob!
30I'm another one who's kinda ticked that this was spoiled for me by putting it in the title. I'm actually watching the show right now and playing on the net and wham! There it is in the title. Oops.
I'm rather glad she was kicked off. I thought she was way too perky and hyper but I figured the so called judges loved her too much to send her off. I'm actually rooting for Lisa. I would totally watch her show and what's funny is that I couldn't stand her the first couple of eps.
31I thought it was no surprise, but she left very very gracefully. Good for her.
I thought Paula Deen was REALLY tacky in her evaluation to Lisa's mac & cheese. Very rude, in my opinion. She acts like a sweet South'n Bayelle, but I often see a bit of phoniness out of her. Even though I admire a lot of what she does & has accomplished, I sometimes am offput by the phoniness. She was needlessly harsh to Lisa; I don't know what she has against her, but it seems like she really enjoyed saying, "Ah didn't lahk it at awwwwll... In faaact, ah haaaated eee-yit." She knew that Lisa looked up to her, and she just blugeoned the girl. People give Martha Stewart a lot of crap about being cold (in general), but MS was gentle & dignified w/every one of the contestants while still getting her point across. Deen was just plain rude & cruel. Her delivery of her evaluation? Well, I guess you could say ah haaaated eee-yit.
32I agree with Mykie - if you don't want to accidentally come across a spoiler, then you should avoid contact with the outside world until you've caught up! It's not a websites responsibility to keep it a secret - after all, some people don't watch their recorded shows for a week - so I guess that means we all have to live under a rock until EVERYONE has watched their shows, right? Ridiculous.
Ick. We still have squinty Lisa. It's pepperspray, I swear. Maybe Kelsey was spraying her in the eyes with pepper spray - that would explain the raccoon eyes, right? Or maybe she went snow skiing a lot and that's why her eyes are freakishly white and squinty while the rest of her face is tan. Ick. Can't stand her. I'd like to send her and her $400 shirts packing! I'm rooting for Aaron.
33LMAO iieee, you said my sentiments about that woman exactly. LMAO I just don't LIKE her, cooking experience or not. Of the 3 left, definitely I will watch Aaron. I love Guy Fieri, his show is AWESOME. And I love to watch Iron Chef now that Michael Simon is there. (I did before, but I love it more with him.) I WATCH the other winners, they are entertaining and knowledgable and while MAYbe obnoxious (Guy anyone?) from time to time, they're still undeniably lovable. Lisa is NOT.
I really wish that the producers read Popsugar and the comments written about the contestants and the shows, because it's US that have to watch these people!
