The other day YumSugar and I were talking about how hard it is to be a patient cook. She was complaining about waiting for her popsicles to freeze, and I mentioned that I've frosted my fair share of uncooled cookies. How about you?

ha. Yes. Definitely. In fact, it can be a deal breaker for me sometimes when sorting through recipes.
I usually end up beginning baking at like 8 or 8:30, so having to wait until like 11pm to frost something SUCKS! I'm a slow baker too.
YES! So impatient. I actually had this conversation with my bff last night.
She was saying her hubby makes better pancakes than she does because she gets impatient and turns the heat up instead of letting it cook slowly. And then she has burnt pancakes.
The ultimate exercise in patience so far for me has been cheesecake though. Holy crap. It's like a 3409374 step process and you have to do it perfectly or it won't work.
Yes. When I bake. Especially when the cake or cookies fill the house with the irresistible aroma.
I'm very bad at waiting. I what the clock most of the time I'm waiting.
Yep!
Geez, my family let me think I was the only person who couldn't stand to wait! Thanks for the validation.
Is that picture off?
I don't like waiting for things to chill, but I love the anticipation and the smell when a lasagna or cookies are in the oven.
It depends on what i'm fixing
I used to be but certain flavors just cant come out when you cook impatiently. When was the last time you caramelized onions in 3 minutes?
Meh, I'm more of a lazy cook. I usually leave freshly baked cookies on the cooling rack for like an hour mainly because I'm too lazy/distracted to get up and get them. And usually, by the time I get to it, half of the batch is gone. (My Dad's a cookie monster)

i love to take my time and cook, things always turn out better if I can take my time. But sometimes I'm in such a rush to get things done or the hard parts out of the way because my 2 year old is screaming for mommy.
i'm just an impatient person in general. i don't even like to wait the 20 minutes it takes to thaw phyllo dough...
Add waiting for the water to boil. It can take foreverrrrr.
Yes I am, but I hate sacrificing quality for it, so, while I am impatient i try to trick myself...I will take butter out to soften hours before i need it so i won't zap it in microwave, etc.
I don't think I've EVER allowed cupcakes or cookies to completely cool before I frost them, so the frosting always ended up melty and gross. I've started just sticking cupcakes straight into the freezer when they get out of the oven and leaving them there for a couple minutes while I tidy up/prepare frosting/whatever and then they're "cooled" enough to handle and frost!
LOL @ ElizabethRae... I feel you on the cheesecake.
No, cooking is one of my biggest pleasure in life. I do it daily and love it.
And what's up with the bathroom picture?
amberhoney--the doggie is being impatient for food! lol
hate to wait! last night we ate crossiants that were definately still a little raw on the inside.
Thanks cravinsugar - I had no clue and now it's cute.
I use to love to cook but the older I get the more impatient I become. I now look for the quick and easy recipes and even then I am impatient. Heck I have tried Rachel Rays 30 minute meal and I still do not know how she does because it takes me longer than that.
No, I know good things come to those who wait.
Yes! And I ruin food all the time because of it!
it depends on what i'm making and how hungry i am...i can be
