Lately, I've heard an increasing amount of hype around how much wine in a box has improved over the years. Like screw-cap wines, boxed wine has become more widely accepted. Because of their unique dispensing system, the wines can last up to six weeks — much longer than the average bottle of wine, which can only survive a couple of days. I haven't tried a boxed wine in years, but I get a hangover just thinking about the boxed wine my friends and I used to buy in college. Perhaps I should seriously consider giving it another chance. What about you: Do you appreciate boxed wine?

i love it because it lasts for a while. Usually Sunday is pasta night so I can have 2 glasses of boxed wine and not worry about sucking down the entire bottle or it going bad if its left to sit for a few days (or weeks)
Hate
great because it last a while but tastes terrible!
It just reminds me of college and how everyone would make fun of my roommate and I for showing up to parties with our "cardboard keg".
Still love it.
I like my wine the cheaper the better! I'm not drinking it to enjoy the taste.
Love it- as long as the quality is decent. It still goes bad after a while..
I've yet to have enough of it to formulate an educated opinion on it and I'd rather not speak in such extreme words as "love" or "hate". I'm open to it, but nobody brings it 'round much.
omgg boxed wine has been a staple of my college experience! That and jugs of Carlo Rossi, haha.
They've come out with some really nice ones. It's not just crap Franzia or whatver, it's actually quality wine now. Plus it stays fresh and you don't have to commit to the whole bottle!
Boxed wine has a time and a place. It's ok if you are going to be making a large quantity of sangria for a huge party.
I'm going to agree with partysugar. When you're dumping fruit/brandy in it for sangria, I'm down with boxed wine because it takes that nasty taste out of it. What it doesn't do, is take away the extra-nasty hangover.
I love that it's cheap and does the job. Mix it with some lemon-lime soda.
Love it if I get a good one. Plus, I live by myself so I can have 1 glass and not worry about the whole bottle going bad....
is the boxed red wine refrigerated like the white? I can't do cold red wine. does anyone have recommendations?
Black Box...really its not bad. I mean I prefer bottled, but if its a big group of people it works.
lol at the jugs of carlo rossi!! i love the sangria. I wish I could say I have fond memories of drinking boxed wine and carlo rossi, however most of those memories escape me due to the excessive amounts consumed at once.
haven't had enough to have an opinion, although, I might give some a try... maybe....
It's ok, I don't love it or hate it. You can dress it up easily as sangria and it's pretty good. But I haven't had any boxed wine that is as good as a bottled wine, but I haven't explored much in the boxed wine world.
I haven't had it in many, many years or these new ones that are supposed to be better so don't have a good opinion there. But I would be willing to try it just for the longer shelf life alone.
Honestly a bottle of wine at my house will last like a day so lasting longer makes no difference to me. I would consider it for sangria though.
I've said it before - most people enjoy it until they find out in came in a box. Put it in a decanter and enjoy!
I like it because it seems to last forever and the last glass is just as good as the first. I agree with AmberHoney completely, people are turned off by the box, not the wine. That being said, I still get embarassed actually buying a box and try to send my boyfriend to get it whenever possible.
Tami715 - let's us boxers stand up and be proud, but hubby usually buys mine also. Lucky girls we are!
Omg Carlo Rossi! We used to line the jugs up in the vacant lot next door and bowl them with an old bowling ball we got at a yard sale. I'm allergic to most other alcohol, so I'm a wine girl. Boxed wine is ok by me.
boed wine spritzas became the offical drink of the summer after i found out im gluten intollerant and cant have beer i got all my friends and their husbands to drink it haha
