Whether you're a picky eater or an adventurous one, everyone has certain items that they refuse to eat. Some things like mayonnaise, blue cheese, or cilantro are commonly hated, whereas things like chocolate or chicken are typically disliked by only a handful. Taste, texture, smell, color — whatever the reason — everyone has that one thing they avoid eating. So what ingredients do you refuse to eat?

Zagliani
Nudie Jeans

Cottage cheese. I've tired so hard to like it, but I can't stand the taste or texture.
1Peppers always have a very fruity, odd taste to me so I don't eat those. If they're in anything that flavor comes out at me more than anything.
2Milk (unless chocolate), cheese (except straight-up mozz on pizza or Papa John's cheesesticks), mayo, eggs, cumin, fish and, while pregnant like now, chicken (Unless it's chinese food... which I'm eating right now). Also not a huge fan of butter.
Of course, the milk/eggs don't count as an ingredient in baked things, like cakes or what have you, but as an individual part of a dish, I cannot stand them at all.
3i'm pretty picky, I don't like mushrooms (but I'll eat around them in a dish usually), cilantro, raw onions, raw tomatoes, fish, most cheese, I could go on for a while. Most of the time texture is my probem (like with mushrooms and tomatoes) but things like fish I just can't stand the taste. I try it all the time because I know it's super good for you, but I just hate it
4I agree with cottage cheese, and I will add:
Lard (Its a southern thing)
5seasoning salt (Lawrys)
bamboo shoots (ick)
I basically will eat anything, but for some reason, I've never been inspired by cauliflower. It's not that I won't eat it, it's that I have no interest in it really.
6Whipped cream....I just can't do it. It's the consistency--I hate it!
7I'm not a fan of mayonnaise or shrimp.
8This is really weird, but I hate potatoes - baked and mashed. I also don't like steak. So, I'm pretty much the complete opposite of steak and potatoes.
9I like just about anything, pretty much everything can be prepared in a way that I'll eat. However, I will not touch things like liver, pate', veal, and innards. I just can't do it. Also, any creature that lives in the ocean and has suction cups on it, not going into this body!
10Cauliflower - ick! Also really bitter raw tomatoes- but that's a last minute call once you get it in your mouth so usually I don't complain about raw tomatoes. Mayonnaise also bc of the fat content.
11Cardamom ... I hate it.
12Oo, I forgot about cauliflower. To me, it's just completely tasteless. If nothing could be solidified into a vegetable, that would be what cauliflower represents to me. Also, I will not eat olives, but usually I just eat around them.
13I'll eat corn on the cob occasionally but hate it in any dish. I also don't care for mayo or Miracle Whip.
14Green olives make me want to throw up. Seriously.
Also, I hate Cool Whip. I wouldn't refuse to eat it, but I try to avoid it because it's texture is so weird and it tastes like chemicals.
15I hate cilantro I can pick it out in ANYTHING! I've gone as far to specifically tell the waiter no cilantro in a dish.
other than that, I'm vegan so there a whole lot of things off my list!
16Too many to name, the top ones are mushrooms, olives, green beans, and cantaloupe.
17Eggs! Even the smell of them make me sick.
18Garlic and any type of raisins or vegetables cooked into something.
19Curry...have tried on a few occassions to learn to like it. No can do.
20I'm with doogirl. I eat pretty much everything but not innards or pate! Yuck!
21I stay away from some things for health reasons, but will eat them on occasion.
The only thing I really avoid is uncooked carrots. I just do not like how they taste when raw. Cooked, however, they are delicious and I'll eat them up.
22MAYO!!!!
23i absolutely refuse to eat eggs. i'll eat them if they're baked in something but otherwise, no way. i even have a hard time cracking them open... they really make me ill. lol
i also wont eat lamb or veal and huge mushrooms freak me out a bit.
oh, and i agree about cottage cheese... yuck!
24Cottage cheese!
25I'm a very adventurous eater but I'm allergic to cheese/cream so that is out.
26I'll eat almost anything. The only things I don't like are:
Mustard
27Dill
Anything raspberry-flavored (but fresh raspberries are okay)
Raw red onions, portabello mushrooms, celery... as a vegetarian, I shouldn't be turning down any other foods, but some make the list. The worst thing that can happen is I show up to a restaurant that has only "portabello burger" as the veggie option. Seriously, eating a giant grilled mushroom?!
28Whipped cream is way too gross for me. I also hate the taste of blueberries (apart from muffins), and my worst enemy is ginger.
I also don't like fruit in my food. I love fruit by itself--apples, grapes, strawberries, bananas, etc-- but I don't want it in my cake or anything.
29I hate mayonnaise usually. I like Russian dressing (mayo+ketchup) and horseradish-mayo, but most things with mayo I can't eat. Smelling it makes me gag. It sucks because I love potato salad and macaroni salad, but I can only eat certain ones. I also don't like mushrooms at all. As someone mentioned before, the texture of them is just weird to me. They don't make or break a dish for me though. I just eat around them. Oh, and I don't like beets. I keep trying them because they look pretty good, but I just can't like them. I'm also kind of picky about tomatoes. I used to completely hate them, but now I like them on sandwiches and cooked in other dishes, but I won't eat them in a salad.
30I refuse to eat mayo, sour cream, cottage cheese, creamy dressings like ranch, mushrooms, cauliflower, I could go on and on.
31Liver. I've tried it and I thought I was going to barf! Ack.
When I have sushi there are 2 things I will NEVER order - uni (sea urchin) and natto (fermented soy beans).
These 3 things give me the heebie-jeebies!
32cilantro
33blue, feta, and other funky cheeses
curry
I don't typically like dishes cooked with marjoram or rosemary.
34I refuse foie gras, shark fin, veal
35I generally don't like mayo, excessive dairy, too much grease and that sort of stuff but will eat some of it if offered at someone's home.
Here it goes:
36cilantro
most fish
raw onions-bad breath that you can never brush away
fennel-tastes like black licorice
most breakfast foods-especially eggs
cottage cheese-both texture and taste
blueberries
Cilantro!
37CELERY! Blegh!
38I won't eat lamb.
39Sea cucumber is actually the only thing I can think of that I'd outright refuse to eat.
I don't like most kinds of bread that much, and I'm not fond of feta cheese or black olives, but I still eat all those things on occasion.
40mushrooms, tomatoes, bananas, and broccoli.
mushrooms and tomotoes i don't mind picking out- cause their flavors don't really taint the food at all- i more don't like their textures. but bananas and broccoli i can taste in my food if it even touches it- and i can't stand it!
41o and i don't eat seafood.
42ROSEMARY!!! so gross. I can't stand sun dried tomatoes. I don't like peaches because of the after taste. Had fermented soybeans once and will not do near it again. I will try anything, had my first sweetbread a week ago and it was amazing. Pate is so good!!! Innards can be amazing. Allergic to seafood though so that is limiting.
43i absolutely DESPISE blue cheese!
44oh, and i'm vegetarian, so nothing with meat!
45Garlic and raw onions - anything that stays with me after I've finished eating it. I like to enjoy my dinner and move onto dessert and not taste the garlic or onions coming through my dessert. It's also a turn off on other's breath
46I have an issue with onions. If I can see the onion, I can't eat it. But if the onion is grind fine enough that I can't see it, I'm okay with it.
47Bring it all on... except tripe. But that is a texture issue, not flavor.
Cheers,
48angela
i only like mushrooms on pizza... i hate livers, capers, salami
49Cilantro tastes like soap, therefore it is the Devil's herb!
