Last night when I was opening a bottle of wine, my corkscrew broke! It was a cheap wine opener, but nonetheless, I was disappointed. Before I can enjoy another bottle of wine, I have to get a new wine opener. Can you help me find one? Look for any type — simple, complex, or gadget-like — of functional corkscrew. i saw a really cool one in a magazine not too long ago and i'm trying to find it. it doesn't even look like a bottle opener and they say that it makes the process so much easier - so i'll try to find it and post some information about it.
it's one of the most depressing things when you want a bottle of wine yet you can't open the sucker up.
1ilanac - it was probably the rabbit (or one of the many similar devices). They are big and clunky to store - but the rabbit rocks!
2I just got a Rabbit kit last weekend at my bridal shower; I'm psyched to use it, I hope it's as magical as I hear!
3Somehow in graduate school, I'm the only one in my group of friends that knows how to use a proper corkscrew. I prefer the cantilevered waiters' ones, like in the photo. The wing-style ones are fine as well. I'm less enthused about screwpull or rabbit corkscrews, though I can see their appeal.
My girlfriend's father is the only person I know who can use the cork fork, and I want him to teach me how!
4I'm with you shoney, that's the only kind of corkscrew I use.
