In case its around-the-clock food shows aren't enough for you, Food Network has announced it will test-launch a new cooking magazine.
The 160-page debut issue of the aptly titled Food Network Magazine will hit shelves on Oct. 14 with a rather limited distribution of 300,000 copies. In the glossy, television personalities Ina Garten, Paula Deen, Tyler Florence, Alton Brown, and Guy Fieri will offer readers tips, tricks, and recipes not demonstrated on their shows, plus behind-the-scenes looks at the network's sets and kitchens.
Should the periodical prove successful, a follow-up issue is slated for January 2009. Let's just hope the magazine is more creative than its title.

Well I guess they wanted to keep the title simple so that everyone who sees the magazine on racks sees what the magazine is about.
1What, no Rachel Ray in it?!? Curses, the world muct be upside down!
2*must* too
3I'd check it out. Hopefully I will not have to look that far for a copy since I work in the same building as the Food Network studios
4see - i'm not sure how it's going to fare among the rest of the clutter out there. we can assume that it won't be as affluent as F&W or Bon App but it's also going to be more epicurean than rachel ray or some of those books. i guess i might check out the initial issue - and see what happens. being in media - i might be able to get a sneak peak - i should make a few calls and see who's publishing it and find a rep.
