Possible first-lady-to-be Michelle Obama is scheduled to make an appearance on Food Network's Paula's Party. On the primetime television series, Southern belle Paula Deen speaks with Obama about the first meal — seafood gumbo complete with lobster, shrimp, and mussels — she cooked for Barack.
After the conversation Deen invites Obama into her kitchen where she teaches her how to make fried shrimp and Creole french fries. The episode airs on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. My tivo is already set; I'm excited to see how Michelle moves in the kitchen.

13i'm not really a fan of paula or her show so i don't think that having michelle on it is going to make me any more inclined to check it out. i think that it's a nice thing though - but not for me.

16I used to like Paula enough until she went all HOLLYWOOD. Ok, she's from Georgia, (I think) and they do say a lot of "y'all," but she has gone completely OVERBOARD with that!!! She uses it so much in her commercials, you'd think she took out a trademark on that word. Can you say, "overcooked?"

29I love Paula and always watch her shows but after doing this I don't think I'll watch or subscribe to her magazine any more. It is her right to have who she wants but if she has Michelle then she should have Sarah. Michelle Obama gives off the wrong vibs. I am a democrat but will in no way vote for a musulim. We really have no candidate that deserves the office of President of the USA.

I liked Ms. Deen but now truly wonder about her reasoning. I think Ms. Obama is a jaded individual at heart and it shows in her character. Ms. Deen, I'm sadly surprised at your choice of guests. ...not on my viewing list any longer.

By the way, the Obama's aren't muslim. Just because their name sounds muslim, doesn't mean that they are. One of my best friends is from Jordan and is strongly anti-muslim and a devoted Christian.
