While watching television the other day, I saw a commercial for Kool-Aid that got me thinking. Kraft Foods, the food giant that makes the fruity punch powder of my youth, has embarked on a campaign to encourage different uses for the mix. Creative ideas include using Kool-Aid as a flavoring agent for plain yogurt or cupcake frosting, a color boost for cake, and even to turn tamales into dessert. Olé!
While I think it's great that Kool-Aid is trying to reinvent itself, a few of the ideas, such as the tamale, struck me as less than appealing. Would you ever experiment with any of the suggestions? If you have already, please share your Kool-Aid experience with us below!

i love this - it reminds me of this cookbook that i saw once that had all these different used for jell-o and that's just creative to me. i may not go right for trying some of these but i can appreciate the value of it.
1My kids' school uses Kool-Aid's recipe for playdough...two packets to colour the dough. They give the recipe out to all the parents. A bit expensive when you can just use food colouring.
2Um... I used to use Kool-Aid to color my hair back in high school (late 80's/early 90's).
3i've used some of these recipes before...yum!
4whip-LMAO!! i knew people who did that!!!
I did that too... dye my hair with kool aid...
5Heck yes I'll try out some of the recipes with Kool Aid. Though I haven't had it in a while . . . I always loved the grape, fruit punch and lemonade. Yum!
6I can't believe you didn't mention the famous Kool-ickle!

I am not really a fan of kool-aid but atleast they are trying to reinvent them selves. lol kool-aid as hair dye!!! wow never thought of that.
8I did the hair dye thing too. I love using food in ways other than originally intended.
9I don't think these are unusual at all. It's amazing what a little .10 cent packet of flavoured powder can do.
10I love the yogurt idea
