Last night's Kitchen Nightmares was all about one family's struggle to run a restaurant. The overbearing dad has diabetes, the son feels like he's never good enough, and the mom is stuck between the father-son battles. Although Gordon Ramsay manages to piece the family back together, the emotional episode made me wonder how I would feel if I worked in a family-owned restaurant. How about you?

I grew up in a family restaurant--my mom and dad owned a Chinese restaurant and did everything themselves, pretty much, so we were there all the time. It was great. My fiance and I want to open a restaurant together someday as well.
The combination of those two pictures is hysterical! For a split second, I thought Gordon had a beehive!
Yes and we actually plan on it in the future
That would be fun. Especially since I'm vegan, my husband is vegetarian, my mom is pescatarian and my dad doesn't eat red meat. We could have a really healthy, special restaurant.
Only if I wanted to end up in a padded room!
Here, here fuzzles. Only if I wanted to knock 100 years off my life.
I could see opening one with just my husband, but certainly not any of my in-laws. I love them but they're muy loco.
i do NOT think that i could work with my family especially in a restaurant since i know that we would all butt heads. it's hard to be in the service industry with your family and know that you have to trust them, but you know that you'll want to kill them too!
I would open a restaurant with one of my brothers. We're both great cooks and work really well together. And the first order of business would be to ban the rest of the family from getting involved in the business.
heck no! we would all kill each other lol
Possibly, w/ the right family members, of course!
I like my family but no way. Serious business (money) can some times break family's up. In rare cases it honestly can work though.
I can't say that I would. But if I had the money, I would help my sister open her own restaurant. She's the cook in the family. I would just sit back and enjoy the free food.
