only about 50% - that's not too good huh? i guess that i'm just so used to seeing the products avaialable at the store all year long that it's kind of lost on me when their high season is. i guess that's what i get for not buying local...since stores import from all over the world to get things stocked all year long.

I need to start paying attention at the farmers market. I guess I just go and get what looks good!

Not fair - I live in California where I see some of this stuff year round. Also, some mushrooms such as morels only come in during a few weeks in the summer while the plain varieties are year round....

...and I was going from when I know we grow stuff here down in Florida... Tangerines tend to be consist at Thanksgiving and well, mangos, when the squirrels don't ravage them, are in the summer...

I'm very flustered about my 4/10... at least about missing tangerines and mangos.

3/10. I agree with lisabarn, in CA we have these produce items available all year long! I'm really disappointed in my score though, I guess I'd better brush up on my produce!

5/10...missed thyme, mushrooms, mango, lima beans, and swiss chard. But dont agree with their answers on some of these!
Lisbarn is right on about mushrooms. I've only ever gone mushroom picking in the summer! Also, I grew swiss chard this spring. It can go into the ground as soon as the ground is thawed a bit as it can survive light frosts and cold temps, and you can begin picking it within 4 weeks. It lasts the entire summer and well into fall. I've been harvesting my thyme since July...dont know why that is a fall pick either. Taking a lot of my garden down this weekend (northeast) Sad

Oh and there is a big mushroom celebration here in May/June for the new crop...so I don't think it is a winter vegetable everywhere.
