Taste Test: New Starbucks Items
Perfect Oatmeal ($2.45)
The
most successful new menu item is the so-called "perfect oatmeal," which comes with two out of three topping options: brown sugar; dried cranberries, raisins, blueberries and cherries; and a nut medley of walnuts, almonds, and pecans. Perfect is a high standard to meet, but the oatmeal is wholesomely delicious.
Without toppings: Has 140 calories, 2.5 grams fat, 4 grams fiber, 5 grams protein, 0 grams sugar.
With all toppings: Has 340 calories, 11.5 grams fat, 7 grams fiber, 8 grams protein, 21 grams sugar; contains tree nuts.

This is a good idea. It is similar to something I'd make myself, so I wouldn't feel guilty getting it plus its very filling!
1I love this oatmeal. It is great with honey.
2I get this at least once a week with steamed nonfat milk and the brown sugar, but i only use 1/2 a pack b/c they give you a lot of sugar. It is so good and fills you up.
3Mmm, that looks good for when it starts getting rainy and cold.
4I LOVE this one. I was excited when it was added to the menu. Very filling. I added a pack of Splenda to mine, though..and the nuts.
5I was very disappointed when I ordered this at Starbucks for the first (and last) time. All it is is instant oatmeal from a paper bag! Was I pipe-dreaming when I expected a nice piping hot crock of oatmeal simmering on a countertop with a big ladle to scoop it out? And without the accoutrements, it tasted like cardboard.
