Out of all of my friends, I'm probably the one who will eat anything once, actually make that twice (I always have to make sure my first opinion was right). Anyways, I ran across this list of 32 Edible Insect Foods You Can Buy Online and had to question whether or not I would eat these. Okay, who am I kidding, that questioning lasted about 3 seconds, of course I would try them. There are a few on the list that I want to try (Tom Yum Flavored Bamboo Worms anyone?).
Admitting that makes me wonder if this is some kind of new low? I'm almost embarrassed by myself, first I admit I've never eaten at any of the top 50 restaurants in the world and then I say I'd be willing to try all of these bugs. I should also mention that me trying all 32 of these edible bugs is probably more likely than me eating at 32 of those restaurants. But I digress...
The edible bug list includes a few extraordinary things like Roasted Pregnant Crickets and Extra Hot Crushed Giant Bug Paste (both of which can be found online at Thailand Unique), as well as a few more "tame" items such as Giant Toasted Ants (which apparently taste something like bacon) and Chocolate Covered Scorpions, or Scorpion Amber Candy. You can check out the whole list at Senselist.
What do you guys think, would you try any of these?

I know to many they may think gross. But we in western society often eat things many would say gross too. So unless one tried something you cant know for sure. After watching Bizarre Food the show , and my brother owning a book on many style like this. I would try it. If only once, I would
1I'd rather not...
2uuhhh
3PASS!
I think I would try it. I say that now, but put them in front of me and it may be a dif story.
4EWWWWW..their guts and brains and all...blah.
5my boyfriend took an entomology lab/class at school and during his finals his prof made everyone sugar cookies with little mealworms in it. anyways, i was sorta disappointed bc they didn't really taste like anything, more like crunchy little thin nuts but still the cookies were delicious. maybe i'll get my hands on a fat grub one day, lol.
6oh and it's called Entomophagy. the eating of bugs.
There's a list of things I'm not interested in eating... and bugs make the list.
7I consider myself to be a pretty brave eater. I love to dine on the "nasty bits" of animals (tripe, intestines, offal, etc.). But I just don't think I could bring myself to do the whole bug thing. Even if they were drenched in chocolate.
8I say it depends. I cant see myself eating spiders but maybe ants.
9Sorry, I can't do it. Bugs creep me out. I don't even like to step on them so I can't imagine putting them in my mouth unless it's under dire circumstances.
10i'd only eat bugs if i was on amazing race or survivor and had to do it to win a challenge! haha
11no thank you, I only eat bugs by accident!
12Blarrrgh, I hate bugs. I couldn't do it. Hate 'em.
13no bugs for me!
14Id try it!
15I'd probably try a few of those, but pregnant crickets? No way!
16OMG, what if, by chance, the babies hatched in your stomach...
I mean, I know it can't happen, but could you imagine!!!
eww.
17ThaT'S sICK.
18I've always said I'd try anything ... once. But I draw the line at bugs. Or even Escargo. I'll eat (and have) squid, octopus, Cow Tongue or Stomach ... but bugs? No way. I'll even try brains before that .... ewwwww, I'm so grossed out now.
19I don't think I would because I am vegetarian, but they are commonly eaten in other countries and are a good source of protein. I don't think it is any different than eating shrimp, they are kind of like insects.
20I was going to put maybe but after reading jendudley's comment about the hatching in your stomach

21Still... I'll wait and answer when the little critters are in front of me.
No way, I was totally checking out that website today too!
22I don't think I will be eating these....even gummy worms give me the creeps
23he11 to da no!!
they gross me out. im not very adventurous when it comes to the tummy. LOL
