Get to Know Pear Varieties
Asian
There are several varieties of Asian pears, all of which are firm to touch when ripe, and do not bruise as easily as their pear counterparts. They are crisp and juicy, with a sweeter, mellower flavor and a floral smell. They are also called by many other names: apple pears, salad pears, nashi pears, or Chinese pears.
