To be honest I decide how much I am going to spend by the occasion and how well-versed in wine I think the people I am sharing it with are! For me and my boyfriend, I have spent up to $70
retail on a bottle of wine, but when dining BYO with some friends, I have spent as little as $7 (it was a great bargain bottle I would drink with my boyfriend, too!) My favorite wine is about
$30, but I keep it for special occasions. In restaurants the markup is huge so we have spent $150+ on a bottle!
It is very rare I spend above $25 on a bottle of wine.. only on special occasions. Black Star Farms (Northern Michigan wine) wine is fabulous for anyone looking for something new!
there's this neat place in New Orleans called w.i.n.o. where you can taste all types of wines by the ounce, half glass or full glass. (It's pretty much set up like a "soda fountain" where you
stick your glass underneath, and it dispenses your desired portion).
Anyway, you can try bottles of wine that are priced in the hundreds by the ounce (it's 1/10 the price) so it's a neat way to taste a $200 bottle of wine for $20, but without shelling out the
major dough.
They have wines in all price ranges though and that's how we found our favorite wine - Ponzi's Pinot Noir.
Bev mo 5 cent wine sale! lol. Well sometimes we check that out, but avergage about $10-25 for a bottle, less if it's just a mixture wine (wine and pepsi = yum!) About the same price for
friends. Want to give them an average to good wine, right?
Most of the wine I have on my rack tho, I got at wineries. . . so it could be between $15-40. I got a $60 Madera from Napa tho. Like most of my wines, it's saved for a special occasion lol.
9.99 for a box of Franzia Sunset Blush at Walmart!!! We also buy one of the really large bottles for about $6.50 I dont even know the name. Ahh me and my roommates are so classy!
we have great beverage stores here with lots of selections- they post the little ratings and info there so you can read about them, which is nice. i'll buy whatever interests me, unless it's
champagne. then...only the best!!!!
Every day wine is in the $10-20 range...since I live so close to the Sonoma/Napa area in California, I visit wineries often and purchase directly from there most of the time. Depending on the
time of year I've been able to get really good deals if I purchase a case of wine.
Special occasion wine...$20-40. A splurge would be more than $40. And I don't usually buy bottles of wine at restaurants, since the markup is usually huge. I just bring my own!
on average i usually spend like $12-$14 on a bottle. i used to think that you had to pay a LOT for a bottle of wine for it to be good but i've learned that it's not the case and you can get
some GREAT things for not that much money. it's interesting to me how restaurants can charge you SOO much more than the same bottle would cost in a store but i guess that's how they make
their money.
I usually go in the $7-15 range, but I like it to be on sale so I can get a more expensive bottel for less. I've been on a real Riesling kick - in fact, I have a $14 bottle of it sitting at
home, calling out my name!

If we're buying it from Spec's or a store, 10-20$ but at a restaurant up to 50$ is our limit.
1Our everyday wines usually range from $10-15. We've found tons of great wines for that price.
Our more special/splurge-worthy wines are in the $30-$40 range.
2I usually spend $20-$30 for everyday wine, more if it's a special occasion or if we're out.
3I've found some fantastic stuff in the $10 - $20 range. Stuff under $10 is for sangria and long cooking.
4Typically $20-25 for everyday; $40-50 when dining out.
5$10-$20 for everyday, and $20-$30 on holidays & birthdays. The food and wine guide book is the best way to find good wines in your price range.

7I recently had a glass of a $600 bottle of wine and while it was VERY good, I couldn't help but wonder why it was so expensive.

If you're ever in N.O., check it out.
10We have a store here called Total Wine, where they have thousands of bottles at great prices. I usually spend between 10 and 20 dollars.
1110-20 if going to a friends or special occasion, but for me home alone, usually less then 10....
129-12 for everyday. 25-25 for frequent nice events. 40 for special occasion.
13depends...for me, not that much, but for a gift a bit more for something nice and impressive
14Under $10 = the magic that is Trader Joe's!
But, I also belong to a wine club with a local vineyard, and I receive 2 bottles per month for about $25.

16Usually $10-$20, and we try to only buy from this place by our house called The Oak Barrel. They had the best halloween apple wine. Yum.
17Whatever the big bottle of Concha y Toro Merlot costs, around 15 i think. Chilean is the best wine.
18$10-20 is the usual....we've never ordered wine from a restaurant before...
19My fave wine of the moment is in the $20-30 range, but I usually only splurge once a month.
