Bon Appetit always seems to have recipes that I want to try. I love the section in the front where people request recipes from restaurants. And usually the first thing I do is turn to the
back to see who was interviewed for Feedback.
since i work in advertising, i've had the luxury of getting both books as well as Food & Wine sent to me w/o having to pay for them, and i have to say tat i'm usually more excited to read
Bon App rather than Gourmet. i feel like the images and the content are more my speed. there's something to be said about how you talk to people when they are a foodie vs when they are just
really interested in food..and i think that BA does a better job talking to the normal person who has an interest in it.
I don't read either on a regular basis, but I do love gourmet. I have a stack of my aunt's old gourmet magazines from the 60's and early 70's; they are fun to thumb through and make great
coffee table reads!
Cook's Illustrated is an amazing cooking magazine. I like how they not only tell you how to do something, but why their method is superior. It's a great magazine, and definitely the one I
read religiously. I also like Bon Appetit and Food & Wine also.
I love recipes in Family Circle and Better Homes and Gardens. May sound crazy, because I don’t have any kids. But their recipes are always simple and delicious. When I’m meal planning for the
week, I often use BHG.com.
based on those two photos alone, i would rather read Gourmet. i subscribe to ba, and have mostly been enjoying their new look. however the turkey photos in this month come across as cold and
clinical, not warm and inviting. i'm glad you posted this, i kept meaning to ask you your opinion on the ba thanksgiving photos!
sabs you have a point. While I find BA to be an easier read, I have some issues with their redesign. A friend of mine actually told me she would be canceling her subscription to BA since the
pictures were so unappetizing to her!

1I've never really read Gourmet, but I really like Bon Appetit, and the cookbook that they've put out is amazing.
2I am a vegetarian, so I prefer to read the veg. magazines.
3I love Bon Appetit! I actually used one of the turkey recipes from that issue and it was delicious!

5I like Cooking Pleasures and the new Food Network Magazine.
6Simple & Delicious or Cooking for 2.
(I know these aren't food magazines, however Shape, Self, and Women's Health magazine always has good nutritional tips & recipes.)
7Does Cooks Illustrated count? I love Cooks.
8I prefer Food & Wine to either one of these. I think I've been subscribing to it for 5 or 6 years now, and I really love it.
9I never buy cooking magazines, but the two or three times I have bought one, it was Gourmet. They did a focus on Mexican food that I loved.
For recipes, I usually prefer magazines like Southern Living, Better Homes & Gardens, and Martha Stewart.

11i'm with anniekim--cooks illustrated is one of the best, but between these two, i chose bon appetit. i also like cooking light.
12We don't have either of those magazines in Australia. I subscribe to donna hay magazine: http://www.donnahay.com.au/magazine/index.php
13I love Cook's Illustrated. Cooking Light usually has good recipes too.
14Eating Well.
15Everyday Food, Cooking Light, Eating Well

17Saveur is fun to read and I love cooking lite for recipes
18Gourmet needs to hire a better food stylist. Their recipes are cool, but the photos are a little off-putting sometimes.
19As an Aussie I am more likely to pick up a copy of Delicious, Gourmet Traveller or Donna Hay.
20I like Bon Apetit... I wouldn't mind Gourmet but I doubt I would make many things from it.
21I love recipes in Family Circle and Better Homes and Gardens. May sound crazy, because I don’t have any kids. But their recipes are always simple and delicious. When I’m meal planning for the week, I often use BHG.com.

24I prefer cooking light myself, but if I have to choose between the two I would say BA, gourmet just seems too complicated for me.
