When I moved out of my parents house they were kind enough to give me a wide selection of kitchen tools. However, the peeler I ended up with is older than me! After struggling to peel one too many apples, the time has come for a shiny, new peeler. Naturally I asked you to help me find it. You looked for durable, dishwasher-friendly peelers that are strong enough to slice through butternut squash's skin. i love the william sonoma ones - and anything that has a similar shape. for most of my life ive's used the smaller ones and i've found that the wider base ones are easier to use and you get more surface area to apply pressure so it's a faster go at it.
1Yum, you must have read my mind! I need a peeler bad; I have a tendency to cut myself, so this is on my MUST HAVE list.
2peelers are so helpful to me because i'm not that handy with the knife when it comes to peeling.
3I happened to see a bit of an infomercial for a peeler that peels both directions (forward and backward). I was intrigued! Does anyone have it? Thoughts?

5I have another Victorinox peeler. Its angled 45 degrees rather than perpendicular (I guessed for ease of continuous peeling)..its works very well like my trusty swiss knife : )
