The immersion blender is one of my favorite kitchen gadgets. It quickly and easily purees soups and sauces without dirtying another bowl. It's especially useful in cooler months when soup making is a frequent activity. Although I have an immersion blender I love, DearSugar does not. She recently asked me to help her find one, so let's head off to market in search of immersion blenders. Look for blenders with strong blades that are practical and functional. Save the sticks in the Yum Market on TeamSugar with the keyword tag, Immersion Blender.

one of my favorite kitchen tools! i love to make soups and it is so much easier using an immersion blender, as opposed to a Cuisinart.
1Definitely bamix! Or if it seems like too much to shell out for an immersion blender, then the next most important feature would be a cordless/battery operated one, I think. I love my Bamix Swissline blender because of the powerful motor, easy-to-clean attachments that work very well and effectively, and also cos of the stretchy cord! A godsend, since it isn't cordless!
2Robot Marie! I burned out the motor in one trying to make milkshakes as a kid hahaha
3I have been looking for one of these recently too! I'll be interested to see which ones people pick.
4every time i see these i think about Iron Chef America because i think that there was one show when bobby flay pulled one out and the challenger got all 'fake upset' about it. these are GREAT inventions and they are so easy to use and handle that everyone should have one.
5i have the same one that's shown in the picture - cuisinart. it works great and was even able to do frozen daiquiris with it.
